Cataclismo: The First Preview

HMD Global, renowned for its Nokia-branded smartphones, is gearing up to introduce its maiden HMD-branded device in India. Preceding its official debut, the Finnish company has unveiled the device's name, which was chosen through a contest on X. Speculations suggest that this upcoming smartphone could be a rebrand of the HMD Pulse, already available in Europe and expected to arrive in the US as the HMD Vibe.

Dentsu is one of the largest media companies in Japan, and has in recent years played a big part in the funding and distribution of anime. Its most recent production, Enter the Garden, is a unique anthology of short films intended for a modern digital audience. In a collaboration between Dentsu and lifestyle digital media brand Azuki, the anthology project is intended to showcase Azuki’s aesthetic in the anime and manga space.

Gotta go fast? Speed fiends might be interested to discover that there's a new bag in The War Within Alpha that increases movement speed in outdoor areas of Khaz Algar! While increasing outdoor movement speed in a specific area of the expansion isn't a particularly important bonus, Arathor Courier's Satchel stands out as the first of its kind — no other bag in WoW has had this kind of statistical effect, and it could be a test case for more varied bag bonuses going forward. Although it is unlikely that we'll see universal combat enhancements like increased strength, critical strike chance, or damage procs, there are a number of other minor supplementary effects or effects that only work in specific areas of the game, like an excavators satchel increasing capabilities in Delves.

Hades 2 is finally out now in early access, giving us all the chance to jump in and give protagonist Melinoe a spin for the first time. Of course, Hades 2 isn't fully feature complete yet, with multiple big updates planned for later this year and in 2025, so questions have been raised as to exactly how much Hades 2 we'll get to play before we hit a wall. Thankfully, developer Supergiant is on hand to clear that up.

Hades 2 has removed one of the first game's most powerful Gods, although there's a good story explanation for why she's not offering her infamously Boons in the sequel.

Apex Legends will soon offer a Solos mode for the first time since 2019, even though developer Respawn Entertainment said earlier this year it had no plans to let players run amok in the battle by themselves again. When the next season starts, Solos will replace the Duos mode for six weeks.

The Minikit from the video games has finally been released in real life. The Minikit first appeared 19 years ago in 2005's as a collectible item and became a mainstay in the series' future titles. There were 10 hidden Minikits in each level — and 60 per Episode — that could form a miniature LEGO recreation of an iconic ship once players had acquired them all, with using them as a way to unlock extra playable characters as well.

Guardian Tactics: Deck of the Chosen is an upcoming roguelike deck builder from the creators of Timelie, Urnique Studio. It functions a bit differently from what you might be used to from roguelikes. As of March 29th, Urnique Studio has released the demo for Guardian Tactics, and I got the chance to check it out. FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that Shadow of the Erdtree will be the only expansion released for beloved role-playing game Elden Ring.

Eight years after the last Batman: Arkham game, Warner Bros. has announced the next in the series: Batman: Arkham Shadow.
