The patch notes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 2 Reloaded update have been released, which show changes to gameplay, weapon balancing, UI, and more. The major Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 patch released on March 6 and introduced many more features as well.
Call of Duty's new update adds new maps, map variants, and more to Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer. One of the more interesting additions is the limited-time Juggermosh mode, which, beginning on March 13, allows users to play as Warhammer 40K-themed Juggernauts for the entirety of the match. Fans can also participate in the new Warhammer 40K: For the Emperor event on March 13. Now that the update has launched, Call of Duty has shared its patch notes, which reveal plenty more changes.
The update rebalances an assortment of Modern Warfare 3 weapons, including nerfs to the BP50 and BAS-B. Season 2 Reloaded also gives slight to moderate buffs to the Bruen Mk9, WSP-9, SVA 545, certain Sidewinder and RAM-9 attachments, the MTZ-762's JAK Heretic Carbine Kit, the AMR-9's JAK Ettin Double Barrel Kit, and more. Also, the XRK Stalker and KATT-AMR's aim-down-sight times are slightly reduced, making the two sniper rifles slightly more lethal. The new update also fixes Call of Duty's underbarrel launcher exploit, which allowed users to fire unlimited, semi-automatic grenades.
Additionally, Modern Warfare 3's Shipment is replaced with Shipmas, the Christmas-themed version of the popular map, and Dome is added into Quick Play. As for broad gameplay changes, a user's crosshair now transitions directly to the center of their screen after aiming down sight, instead of easing towards it, which Sledgehammer says should improve precision and responsiveness when aiming. Season 2 Reloaded also makes a significant UI improvement by allowing users to track up to five challenges, which are displayed in-game on a user's pause menu and in the lobby.
The update also makes Modern Warfare 3's attachments much easier to browse by allowing users to filter them by subcategories in the Gunsmith menu. For example, users can now filter optics into various groups such as Hybrid, Thermal, and 2.5x, or filter underbarrels by Hand Stops, Angled Grips, and Undermounted Weapons. Also, music from Hans Zimmer's MW2 Music Pack now plays again during matches. And, like most major updates, Season 2 Reloaded introduces a wide variety of bug fixes.
Fans can now try out Modern Warfare 3's new maps. These consist of a Das Haus remaster, Skidrow variant, and Terminal variant.
