Bethesda aims to update Starfield roughly every six weeks in 2024

Final Fantasy 14's upcoming graphical update will make sweeping changes to character renders, with a particular focus on darker skin tones. This addresses complaints that the game struggled to render characters with dark skin, often making it hard to make out their facial features, particularly in low lighting.

Despite already looking very good, Everspace 2 from Rockfish Games is moving to Unreal Engine 5. The engine upgrade will occur with the Spring Update, presumably before the second free major update, Incursions (launching in the same release window).

For fans of the Silent Hill franchise, there’s been a long gap between releases. It’s been a dormant IP for quite some time since Hideo Kojima split ways with Konami. But it was just a couple of years ago now that Konami unveiled that they were bringing Silent Hill back in a big way. Several games were unveiled, as well as some additional side projects like a new feature film from Christophe Gans. If you’re still exploring the vast reaches of Starfield and are somehow hungry for more, you’re in luck. An “End of the Year Update” dropped by Bethesda outlined some of what’s to come in 2024. 

Starfield will receive updates "roughly every six weeks starting in February" if Bethesda hit their target, according to an end of year wrap-up. "These updates will include everything from quality-of-life improvements to content and feature updates," including previously mentioned city maps, mod support and new methods of travel.

Earlier this month, developer Bethesda Game Studios revealed on the Starfield subreddit that it was working on new ways to travel, mod support, and more for the game. Now, the company has expanded on its 2024 plans for Starfield in a new end-of-year update, including additional ship customization. 

News that Starfield will be getting updates "roughly every six weeks" starting in February has already gone down well with fans.  

Can you believe it, but it is nearly the end of 2023. We made it guys! While many of us will likely be setting our sights on a bottle of Baileys and novelty Christmas pudding shaped confectionery, Bethesda is still all business, and has laid out its Starfield plans for 2024.

While Starfield was heavily criticized by many, the game managed to become quite popular in the months following its release.

In what looks like its last Starfield post for the year, Bethesda's committed to big changes for the RPG in 2024, revisiting promised quality-of-life features and doubling down on new gameplay options ahead of the RPG's first confirmed expansion, Shattered Space.
