Next year, Baldur's Gate 3 will be hosting a concert at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London, bringing the game's music to life in what is being called "The Symphony of the Realms".
Tickets are going for £40 to £125 (with a £3.50 booking fee), but the queue is already quite long. Composer Borislav Slavov will also appear as a "special guest" and, according to SBC's website, the higher-priced tickets include "admission to the Borislav Slavov masterclass on the day".
The concert will take place on May 4, 2024, at 7pm, lasting approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
“We are excited to present the Game Music Festival in London again," Game Music Festival founders Marta and Mateusz Pawlak said. "The previous editions of GMF clearly show that it is the perfect spot to showcase what our festival is all about – celebrating the art of video game music. Like previous editions, we fully dedicate ourselves and spare no effort to deliver a remarkable musical experience to our audience.
"The very core of our mission is promoting the video game music genre, and with the programme we have this year, we aim to gather the attention of gaming communities and fans of illustrative music alike. We hope that both our regular audience as well as newcomers will be pleased with the result at London's Southbank Centre”.
The Baldur's Gate 3 symphony will be performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra and Hertfordshire Chorus, conducted by Sound Factory Orchestra founder Robert Kurdybacha. While famed (and definitely real) composer Lydia Tár recently broke into the game music space with Monster Hunter, she will not make an appearance during 2024's Game Music Festival.
Baldur's Gate 3 isn't the only game to take the spotlight next year during the festivities. It's joined by The Last of Us in a symphony called "The Sound of the Fireflies" featuring music from the first and second games.
Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla will make an appearance on stage with the Philharmonia Orchestra on May 4, 2024, at 1pm. Tickets retail at £40 to £125.
GMF has been running for four years now, starting in 2018 with Grim Fandango, Heroes of Might and Magic, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Starcraft. It continued in 2019 with Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Hitman, Assassin's Creed, and Journey, returning in 2020 with Divinity Original Sin 2 (another Larian Studios project), Baldur's Gate, Hades, Pyre, Transistor, and Bastion. Last year, we were treated to indie darlings Cuphead and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

There is no doubt that Samsung is singlehandedly responsible for bringing foldable phones to the market and starting a trend that we are now seeing in full swing. However, the one thing with most foldable phones that prevents most people from choosing them is the price, but that could change as the South Korean tech giant releases a more affordable foldable next year.
