Baldur's Gate 3 Player Wipes Out Entire City By Carrying A Corpse Around

Baldur's Gate 3 has a bunch of different ways to fend off your enemies, some of which involve getting very creative with the mechanics you have on hand. I mean, who among us hasn't shoved a major boss down a cliff in one turn? Or polymorphed Cazador before he can even start the rite of profane ascension? Well, turns out it can get even weirder than that, and all you need is the right corpse.
In Cazador's palace, you'll find the dead body of a girl called Victoria. As you discover through a note near her corpse, she died through a vampire bite, but not before she unleashed a curse on her attacker that deals devastating necrotic damage. Turns out, that damage doesn't stop if you pick up her body and keep her in your pack, letting you unleash the curse on anyone who gets too close to you.

Yes, alright, it is a little morbid to run around with the girl's dead body in your inventory, but hear me out. The Cazadar fight is really, really, hard. Well, if you don't cheese it with the polymorph strat. This way, just have someone with a high constitution carry Victoria to his lair, and charge right into the fight, guns blazing. Or, uh, dead body blazing?
That description may have put you off, but I think you'll become a lot less squeamish when you see it in action. Big thanks to TikTok user arwenimladris for doing what we couldn't.
As you can see, that necrotic damage will make quick work of anyone in your path. Even if that includes random NPCs just trying to go about their business in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate. In fairness, the city has seen so much shit over the past few hundred years that someone waving around a cursed corpse is hardly surprising. Average Tuesday.
Bizarrely, this isn't the only cadaver-based exploit we've spotted in the Baldur's Gate 3 fanbase this weekend. As we reported yesterday, some players are keeping a collection of dead bodies in their camps, so they always have a minion on hand for a necromancer build. We're all used to making sure we're stocked up on potions before heading out into battle, but these players are double-checking their corpse collection first. Lovely stuff, that.
Sadly, fewer bodies can be picked up and stored on console, for reasons that have not been explained. Fingers crossed, this is fixed soon, perhaps when Baldur's Gate 3 launches on Xbox later this year.
