Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Solve The Defiled Temple Puzzle

Bethesda is known for delivering some truly remarkable RPGs. While known for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, their next game is actually a brand new IP. Starfield has recently been in so many headlines as we approach its release date. But that hasn’t stopped some fans from wondering what is around the corner after Starfield. We know that Bethesda is bringing out the next The Elder Scrolls video game. However, details about what The Elder Scrolls 6 will bring are being kept secret. 

The Elder Scrolls 6 might have been announced a little early, and its director wants it to be the "ultimate fantasy-world simulator."

If you've ever felt like you were working a shift that would never end, then you'll already have an idea of what life is like in Night Loops' labyrinthine Seaside Hotel, where your final hour from 5am is repeating in an endless time loop. 

I finally jumped into Baldur's Gate 3 yesterday and it's kick-started my desire to play through the campaign with multiple characters. The game feels like it's missing one perspective though - what if I don't want to remove the mind flayer parasite? What if I want it to take over from the get-go and start absolute chaos?

We’ve made it to the final stage of the Gauntlet of Shar in Baldur’s Gate 3. We’ve completed the three trials and collected all four Umbral Gems — technically, that’s everything required to complete the dungeon. But, if you want to complete Shadowheart‘s Companion Quest, we’ll also need to collect the Spear of Night. Getting this item is a challenge in of itself, with a tricky puzzle and another Umbral Tremor encounter.

Money makes the world go around, even in Baldur’s Gate 3. Jaheira’s Companion quest leads players to The Counting House, where all the coins and valuable goodies are stashed. Unfortunately, a Money Heist-like scheme is out of the question since the Stone Lord beat us to it.

The Sewers of Baldur’s Gate is full of filth, gnarly enemies, and, as it turns out, some puzzles. While exploring this region of Baldur’s Gate 3, players might run into the Abandoned Cistern’s Water and Temperature Valve puzzle.

When you arrive at Grymforge, a majority of the residents there are likely not too happy to have you arrive in Baldur’s Gate 3. These are all True Souls, the ones working with the Absolute Cult, and they’re in a crisis: their leader has recently fallen in a cavern and is stuck behind a pile of rocks.

Baldur’s Gate brims with secrets, mysteries, and, apparently, murder plots. Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a thorough combat system, but the battlefield is just one of the challenges to conquer. Upon entering the Open Hand Temple in the city, sister Yannis asks that we grab a magnifying glass and closely inspect the case of Father Lorgan’s death. Inspector Valeria, the flying hollyphant, has missed some clues to solve the Open Hand Temple murder, and it’s up to you to find them.

There are few gaming experiences as chaotic and memorable as sitting down in person with a group of pals to play a tabletop role-playing game. Some video games have tried to capture this in digital form, with limited success. But Baldur’s Gate 3 conveys the highs and lows of a tabletop co-op campaign thanks to clever systems, a dense world, and multiple avenues to pursue every quest. This makes Baldur’s Gate 3 co-op flexible and daring in a way I haven’t seen before — but it’s also a campaign that constantly runs the risk of descending into pure chaos.

While exploring different locations, interacting with characters, and engaging enemies in combat is what you do most of the time in Baldur's Gate 3, there are times when your characters will have to sheathe their swords and axes and start using your mind to conquer some of the game's most challenging puzzles.
