Baldur's Gate 3 has a pretty cool selection of companions for you to choose from, each with their own unique charms and quirks that makes travelling around with them and watching them interact with each other an absolute joy. However, a certain blunt Githyanki has caused somewhat of a stir on social media this past week, as some believe Lae'zal's status as the game's least popular companion is because female characters are held to a much higher standard than male ones.
There are a whole bunch of people negatively posting about Lae'zal on social media, some calling the character off-putting, grating, and bit too forward. In fact, there are so many opinions floating around out there that Lae'zal herself has taken notice, as actress Devora Wilde has decided to gather up as many mean tweets as she can and responded to them in-character, using her Lae'zal voice to ruthlessly mock them for their wrong opinions.

Rocking an eerily uncanny filter that even makes her look like Lae'zal but a bit less green, Wilde uploaded a TikTok video earlier this week, reading out mean tweets and then responding to them in turn. The responses are a pretty healthy mixture of degradation, humiliation, and one admittance that Karlach is "pretty badass", all things we've come to expect from Lae'zel at this point. She even goes so far as to say one person has a big nose and regularly mocks people for choosing to ignore her advances.
Of course, if you left Lae'zal out of your party simply because you preferred a few of the other characters a little bit more then you've been spared Wilde's wrath. For all of you that have been posting snarky comments about Lae'zal on social media, you now know that there's a chance that the character herself could find them and give you the talking to you deserve.
On the other side of the spectrum, it was recently shared by Larian that Shadowheart appears to be the game's most popular character, at least when it comes to the romantic side of your adventure. However, it could have actually been lovable bad boy Astarion if we were all much better at romance, but Shadowheart ended up being a popular rebound pick as Astarion has actually ended up rejecting over 100,000 people since launch.

Romance stories come in all forms, spinning a narrative around charming or chaotic get-togethers. As with any genre, romance stories have plenty of tropes that often pop up. Even when it isn’t the focus, weaving in romantic pursuits is common in most forms of media.
Following hot on the heels of the short-person smooching update, Larian is already hard at work on the next patch for Baldur’s Gate 3. Among the usual bug fixes, tweaks, and performance boosts, Larian says this “begins our journey incorporating feedback into Origin Character epilogues.”
Baldur's Gate 3 is a hit with fans and critics alike, boasting an incredibly high Metacritic score of 96, making it one of 2023's highest-rated games, and one of the highest-scoring PC games of all time. But as great as it is, people still have hot takes, and thousands of fans have flocked to Reddit to share their own.

Baldur's Gate III is arguably the game of the summer, and it isn't even out on consoles yet. Developer Larian Studios has taken a "it'll be out when it's ready" approach to releasing the game on various platforms. After becoming an instant hit on Windows when it came out of early access earlier this month, Baldur's Gate III will land on PlayStation 5 and macOS on September 6th. The exact Xbox release date is still unclear, but Larian has finally confirmed the massive RPG will come to Microsoft's consoles later this year.
Throughout Baldur's Gate 3, you will spend time with a strange skeleton at camp. He's called Withers, and not much is known about him other than the fact he can respec your class and summon the dead to fight for you. But given his scene at the end of the game and the tomb you find him in, there's clearly more to Withers than meets the eye.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is packed with dialogue, including tons of little scenarios that you may never see unless you replicate a very specific set of directions. For instance, I’m absolutely in love with Astarion’s line delivery when you torch him with a sun cannon and bring him back to life. It’s all very Dennis Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and I appreciate Larian Studios for enabling that level of chaos. The voice actors did fantastic work, and many of them are taking to social media to join in on the jokes around the game.
It’s no secret that Baldur’s Gate 3 is overflowing with content. Every corner is filled with a secret side quest that’s pretty easy to miss. After all, platinum-ing the game would take no less than 200 hours. Still, with the excitement of all the new mechanics, characters, and world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and start skipping content.

Not everything in Baldur’s Gate is entirely true, and you might learn this while reading Baldur’s Mouth as you’re exploring Baldur’s Gate 3. The city’s newspaper likes to embellish some details, especially if a story is particularly good. During the final act of Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s a character named Estra Stir who you can speak with, and it turns out she’s a journalist for the Baldur’s Mouth.
