Between the ease-of-use of engines like RPG Maker to the release of titles like Game Builder Garage that gamify the act of development itself, there are countless ways into game development that do not require previous experience of coding or design.

Apple fans have long yearned to call Mac their gaming platform of choice, but the number of games only available on Windows continues to be a problem. There's a way to bridge that gap, though, with an open source and user-friendly app called Whisky.

Epic Games has revealed that it will be adding a new feature to the Fortnite Item Shop, allowing players to check how long a skin will be available before it's removed for rotation. There are thousands of cosmetics in Fortnite, and it's not uncommon for fans to have lists of the items that they want to return to the game. Every day, cosmetic items are brought in and out of the shop to make room for new and returning trends. However, unless Fortnite makes an announcement, it's impossible for gamers to know what's coming before the refresh.

Baldur's Gate 3 is the first game in history to win five major game of the year awards: those from BAFTA, D.I.C.E., Game Developers Choice, Golden Joystick, and The Game Awards. This historic achievement further underlines the massive success that Baldur's Gate 3 went on to become, especially since that elusive fifth accolade was far from a certainty.

Last night, the BAFTA Games Awards 2024 took place in London, bringing together the stars of the gaming world for a night of fancy dress and celebration. Despite being released eight months ago, Baldur’s Gate 3 continued to steal the show, bringing home five total awards including Best Game and the EE Players Choice Award.

Baldur's Gate 3 continues to collect year-end honours as the expansive RPG from Larian Studios took home the top award at the 20th BAFTA Games Awards held in London late Thursday. The Dungeons & Dragons-style RPG was crowned as the Best Game, in addition to winning in four other categories on the night. Acclaimed survival-horror sequel Alan Wake 2, Nintendo platformer Super Mario Bros. Wonder and British indie Viewfinder won two BAFTAs each, while Cyberpunk 2077 continued its redemption story with a win in the Evolving Game category.

Baldur's Gate 3 has completed its own Grand Slam of Game of the Year Awards with last night's win at the BAFTA ceremony, following its previous triumphs at The Game Awards, Golden Joystick, New York Game Awards, DICE Awards, NAVGTR Awards, Steam, GDC Awards, and our own Awards.

The BAFTA Games Awards 2024 winners have been revealed, with this year's big victor — perhaps unsurprisingly — being Larian Studios' hugely acclaimed Baldur's Gate 3.

The 2024 BAFTA Games Awards have come and gone but didn’t leave without another round of wins for Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3. The Dungeons and Dragons RPG rolled away from the show with five wins (including Best Game) while other highlights saw solid wins for projects like Alan Wake 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Viewfinder.
