EA Sports FC 24 has retained the top spot of the UK physical charts this week, despite a 48% decrease in sales.
According to GfK data, the post-FIFA title saw a sales decline across all formats, most notably on Xbox Series X|S.
Two new titles followed EA Sports FC in the top three, including Assassin's Creed: Mirage at No.2 and Detective Pikachu Returns at No.3.
Elsewhere, Mario Kart 8 and Hogwarts Legacy completed the Top Five, while Mortal Kombat 1 dropped from No.2 to No.8 this week, with a 38% sales decrease.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fell to the bottom of the Top Ten for the first time since its release in May, incurring a 10% drop in sales.
Meanwhile, price promotions saw several titles re-enter the charts this week, including Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion benefiting from a 875% increase in sales, F1 23, It Takes Two, and Need for Speed: Unbound.

Gfk’s weekly physical sales data for the United Kingdom isn’t in yet, but there have been some notable shifts. According to Games Industry’s Christopher Dring on Twitter, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is now in the top spot, despite sales dropping by 55 percent.
Last week was an eventful one where major new game releases are concerned, and to no one’s surprise, a few of them have managed to make a strong impression with their initial sales. Super Mario Bros. Wonder, for instance, has not only launched to near-universal acclaim, it’s also enjoyed impressive sales in the UK, Europe, and, according to the latest weekly physical sales data released by Famitsu, in Japan.

As one of the most anticipated games of the year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is expected to perform well in sales. According to Christopher Dring of Games Industry, it debuted “comfortably” at the top on this week’s UK physical charts and is the fourth biggest boxed launch in the region this year.

Sales dropped by 36 percent per Games Industry, with the Xbox Series X/S version suffering the most, while the PS5 version constitutes the majority. As for Hexworks’Lords of the Fallen, it debuted in fourth place.
