Tokyo Game Show is happening right now, and in case you missed it, Sony is celebrating with a new sale on the PS Store. As you'd expect, the offer comprises almost exclusively games made in Japan, though there are one or two outliers. Anyway, there are a lot of fantastic titles included here for both PS5 and PS4.

Known as Kuro no Kiseki in Japan, publisher NIS America has confirmed that it'll be bringing the RPG westwards in the summer of 2024. Its official English name is Trails through Daybreak, and it's coming to both PS5 and PS4.

Sony has unveiled a new promotion in the USA that allows anyone who purchases and then activates a new PS5 by 20th October 2023 to redeem a free PS5 game. Those who qualify will need to turn the console on and button over to the PS Store, where a banner will take you to a page listing the 12 PS5 titles you can pick from. Two legendary game designers, Swery65 (Deadly Premonition) and Suda51 (No More Heroes), are collaborating on a new game, titled Hotel Barcelona. Officially, in-development fighting game Project L hasn't been confirmed for a console release, but a social media mishap may have just outed the title for PS5. Microsoft boss Phil Spencer thought about pulling support for Fallout 76 back when the platform holder acquired developer Bethesda as part of the larger purchase of parent company ZeniMax. In a revealing email, Spencer suggested that if the game couldn't manage 10 million monthly average users (a number it would ultimately surpass), a decision should be made to «move on from it».

Ubisoft's premier racing franchise, The Crew, generally gets a bad rap. Developer Ivory Tower had very strong ambitions right from the starting grid, providing drivers with an open world approximating the entire United States of America. It's a great idea; roam the entire country from coast to coast with your pals, taking on challenges and building a varied collection of vehicles. The Crew 2 doubled down, even providing new ways to get around with boats and planes. For us, however, the execution was never really good enough, with a vapid open world and lacklustre driving. The Crew Motorfest is a different story.
