Armored Core 6 has multiple endings and secret mech parts to discover

For those who have been stepping into the mechs in FromSoftware’s latest game, Armored Core VI, you can now preorder the official game guide for it (titled the Pilot’s Manual) over at Amazon. It’s made by Future Press, who also did the spectacular Elden Ring strategy guides, and is expected to be released this year on November 30. It took modders less than a day to add CJ from San Andreas to Armored Core 6, and the meme train just keeps rolling down the tracks: I present to you CJ and Thomas the Tank Engine. Together at last. Wait… Yes it is a rather unfortunate confluence of body positions and overall deeply, deeply cursed, but I think we'll leave it there.

Among the feats a new player of FromSoftware's Souls or Souls-adjacent fantasy games must perform is conquering your fear of giants. From the Stray Demons of Dark Souls through Bloodborne's Cleric Beast to the dragons of Elden Ring, you must learn not to be awed by creatures who look they could kill you with a sneeze. You must learn to run towards that titanic knight with the enormous shield, rolling between its colossal ankles, using its stature against it. You must learn to see past the visual overkill of a swing that would surely fell a skyscraper, registering only the effects on your poise and health bar. It's a learning curve, for sure, and that makes the modding of mechs from Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon into Elden Ring a little more than the usual act of mischievous fanservice.

As the school holidays wind to a close, and those heady weeks of FIFA games and lengthy RPG sessions fade into memory, my household has had one last gaming hurrah. I’ve been making my way through all of the things I saw at Gamescom, and carried on with some of them when I got home. It's a stormy night. The lights are off. The doors are locked. Somewhere, a woman is singing. Somewhere else, a phone is ringing. This is Holstin, a Polish survival horror experience in which you merrily rove an isolated town that, based on 14 minutes of fumbling around in exactly one very unwelcoming house, already seems a match for Silent Hill in terms of existential squalor. FromSoftware has released quite a few hits over the years, and they are currently supporting their latest release into the marketplace, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. This mech game franchise has made a big return to the marketplace after being missing in action for the past decade. But now that players can go through this game, the hunt has been on to find the fabled Moonlight Greatsword.
