Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon – Patch 1.02 Buffs Several Weapons, Adjusts Certain Bosses

Even in the pre-release review period for Armored Core 6, I didn’t encounter any major bugs. That’s kind of rare in this current AAA landscape, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist! Thankfully, From Software is planning on swiftly addressing some snafus with a variety of patches, and we’re already three updates in at this point.

This morning, popular game-engine creator Unity Software announced an update to its pricing and packaging plans, which will go into effect on January 1, 2024. The new pricing plan introduces a fee that activates and charges developers of high-performing games each time the title is installed by a user or player. Since its launch in late July, Pikmin 4 has consistently topped weekly Japanese retail sales charts, though that streak is now broken. As per the newest weekly data released be Famitsu, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has debuted on top of the newest charts. In fact, it occupies the two top positions, with the PS5 version selling over 115,000 units and the PS4 version selling over 47,000. Collectively, the game has sold over 163,000 units, making it the second-biggest launch for the mech action franchise in Japan, behind 2012’s Armored Core 5, though with digital sales included, it’s likely to have sold more than its predecessor.
