Stellar Blade, the latest PS5 exclusive, is out now on Sony's current-gen console. This is a big budget, out-and-out action game — something of a rarity these days — and it's been met with a slew of high scoring reviews. Needless to say, a lot of PlayStation fans have been waiting for this one.
We called it a «stellar PS5 debut» for developer Shift Up in our Stellar Blade PS5 review. «Stellar Blade is a slick console debut from a developer clearly on the rise. With an ever-evolving counter-attacking combat system, some superb art direction, and a sensational soundtrack, this is the kind of back-to-basics PS5 outing that fans have been pleading for,» we concluded. Eve's parry-peppered romp was awarded a 'great' 8/10.
Would you Adam and Eve it?
But are you strapping in for some Stellar Blade this weekend? Have your say in our polls, and then unsheathe in the comments section below.
Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.
I’m a massive action game fan and yes, I’m taking a break from FFVII Rebirth to play Stellar Blade today. I almost always finish what I’m currently playing before starting anything new, but I’m definitely making an exception on this occasion.
It was also refreshing to see version 1.2 on the disc, so no day one patch. Unless my PS5 just didn’t show the patch as a download I guess.
I'm playing it right now.
No, too busy falling off horses and gnashing my teeth at lock picking in Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Well that’s about 30 minutes into Fallout New Vegas and already my first hard reset… doesn’t bode well
The highly rated co-op adventure that is Sea of Thieves has arrived on PS5, marking developer Rare's first ever release on PlayStation platforms, if you can believe it. The game first launched for Xbox One and PC back in 2018, and it's been heavily updated over the years, to the point where it's managed to maintain a very healthy community.
Revolutionary RPG Baldur's Gate 3 was the surpise hit of 2023; a confluence of contributing factors that led to Larian's creating a once-in-a-generation level experience. But Larian has left the building, moving onwards and upwards, and ultimate IP holder Hasbro has already made a $1 billion bet on internal game development.
Well, it's been quite some time since we wrote about Ghost of Tsushima updates, but the open world action game has a new patch on PS5 and PS4. As outlined by developer Sucker Punch, update 2.19 tweaks the title for crossplay support, ahead of the PC version's release on the 16th May. PlayStation users will be able to team up with PC players in the game's co-op Legends mode.
Google Play recently decided to pay tribute to Sonic the Hedgehog on social media. Reasonable, given that the famous mascot is currently having a bit of a cultural moment. The only problem? Most of it was completely wrong.
Square Enix has warned Final Fantasy XVI players that it's aware of a potentially progress-impeding bug, specifically affecting players trying to boot up a New Game+ run. The good news is that the developer is prioritising a fix and will push out a patch once a resolution is found.
The Pedestrian I normally don't have the patience (or mental ability) for puzzle games as I tend to give up when frustrated but I've been enjoying this one, albeit in small sessions. I like the way it doesn't really explain anything but still remains quite simple to grasp the new mechanics introduced in different areas. I also like how solving fairly simple puzzles makes me feel like a genius! Its quite a pleasant change of pace for me at the moment.

There's a big, new, shiny PS5 exclusive on the scene, and we expect it'll be a popular pick this weekend. Yes, Stellar Blade is here, and it's well worth checking out if you're in the mood for some good old-fashioned monster-murking action. There's lots of other stuff to play, though, as our team shows with an eclectic mix of PS5 and PS4 titles.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
@Bentleyma likes Gollum. I can definitely put this person on ignore then...
