After SDCC, New York Comic Con is one of the year’s biggest pop culture gatherings. And even in a year when writers and actors have largely been on strike and unavailable for fan events, the convention still promises to be packed with surprises.
Marvel and DC Comics will still be there with plenty of comic news, and the respective folks behind Our Flag Means Death, Dragon Ball, and Critical Role are gathering to hype up their new projects. Every year, we can expect news, announcements, and trailers to break out of the convention, and NYCC 2023 is no different.
Tune in all weekend for more updates from NYCC — and don’t forget that a bunch of it is free to livestream from your home!

Women make up just between 24% and 30% of the video game industry’s workforce, depending on the research source. However, year after year, from players to developers, female representation has been growing throughout games at all levels of experience.
Great horror RPGs are more difficult to find than you might think. Despite clever innovations like the sanity stat, role-playing designers still tend to favor swords and sorcery over everything else (just ask sci-fi fans). That doesn’t mean there aren’t some perfectly scary RPGs out there, though. Whether they feature raw psychological horror or more traditional werewolves and vampires, there’s plenty of spookiness to be found in the role-playing genre. So on this, the spookiest day of the year, here are five great RPGs to play on Halloween.
Marvel comics, TV shows, and especially movies seem to have a requirement to emphasize the “what’s next” of it all, where the end of everything is also a tease for something else. Well, folks, Insomniac Games took that assignment, ran with it, and took a few extra laps just for good measure.
Starting this weekend, Hyundai is opening clinics in five US cities where drivers can take their vehicles for a software update it says will prevent the type of vehicle theft made popular on TikTok.
Upon booting up Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I did what any self-respecting New Yorker would do: I beelined it toward my favorite part of the city as soon as possible, to see how Insomniac Games had recreated the locale. In my case, this meant veering toward South Brooklyn, even as Sandman was wreaking havoc on the infrastructure of Manhattan’s Financial District. However, as I swung beneath the gothic arches of Brooklyn Bridge, the better to glimpse the steel girders and stevedore cranes of Red Hook from a distance, the vista confirmed what I had feared deep down: My favorite neighborhood wasn’t even there.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 fans have realized that the game is missing a villain they expected to return from the first game.
The Biden-Harris administration announced the first series of tech hubs that are getting funded as part of the CHIPS and Science Act signed into law last summer.
Flint Marko, better known as the Sandman, has quite a few memories scattered around New York in . Marko's Memories are crystals protected by a horde of sand creatures. These crystals house the Sandman's memories and show up after completing the first two main story missions. Marko's Memories are similar to the Black Cat Stakeouts from the first game in that they teach Spider-Man something about his enemies.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has arrived on PS5 and marks the biggest gaming adventure yet for our favorite friendly neighborhood hero who first swung into the gaming world in 1982’s Spider-Man for the Atari 2600. Since then, there have been some spectacular and amazing entries in the wallcrawler’s game output, as well as some that didn’t quite live up to Spidey’s good name.
Spider-Man 2 is packed with classic villains from the web-slinger’s deep roster of bad guys. If you’re eager to dig in and see all the villain bosses you’ll encounter with Peter Parker and Miles Morales, check them out in the full gallery below. Whether these villains appear as bosses or they’re teased for future encounters, we’ll list them and offer a (brief) explanation for those of you that don’t know who the heck these bad guys even are. There are a lot of fan-favorites appearing in Spider-Man 2, and even a few left-field inclusions we didn’t see coming. Here’s a quick look at Spider-Man’s massive rogues gallery.
At New York Comic-Con 2023 last weekend, Gematsu sat down with Earth Defense Force 6 producer Nobuyuki Okajima to discuss the newly announced global release of the latest entry in the alien invasion third-person shooter series.
