Yoshi-P Wants To Direct The Next Final Fantasy Game

Days after revealing the release date of the Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail expansion, Square Enix confirmed that fans can expect to hear more news about it during the next Letter from the Producer LIVE event on April 12 and 13. The upcoming Final Fantasy 14 broadcast is expected to touch upon Dawntrail news that was not covered at the March 23 PAX East panel.

Square Enix has released the first episode of “Inside Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a behind the scenes of the making of the February 29-released action RPG sequel to Final Fantasy II Remake. The first episode is titled “Shaping the World.”

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is nearly a month old now, which means series fans are already beginning to turn their attention to the FF7 Remake trilogy’s final instalment– but Square Enix seemingly has plenty of other Final Fantasy throwbacks in the works as well, if reports are to be believed. One of them is allegedly a remake of Final Fantasy 9, and Naoki Yoshida – producer and director of Final Fantasy 14 – recently seemingly dropped some teases for the rumoured remake.

Ahead of (or maybe alongside, we're not sure) the release of its second expansion, Final Fantasy 16 will be getting a free update that includes some rather positive-sounding changes. Patch 1.30 was detailed during the developer's PAX East panel, so we've gone ahead and sorted the additions and improvements as bullet points:

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthdropped only a few weeks ago, but fans of the series won't have to wait long at all to play a new addition to another recent entry. The Rising Tide, the second paid expansion for Final Fantasy XVI, will arrive on April 18.
