Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will soon have two additional perks to claim, with one for Persona 3 Reload and another for Final Fantasy 14. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the priciest tier of Xbox Game Pass, but it comes with some major benefits that make it worthwhile for many subscribers.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines the perks of all the other Game Pass tiers into a single package. This means Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get access to the online multiplayer support available through Game Pass Core, the PC and console Game Pass libraries, the EA Play games, exclusive discounts, and rotating perks. Just as new games are added to Xbox Game Pass on a monthly basis, so too are new perks.
Generally speaking, most Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks are relatively low-key, but there are times when a significant perk is given away. So is the case with the new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks coming on March 12 and March 21. On March 12, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can claim the Persona 3 Reload expansion pass, a $34.99 value, while the March 21 perk is Final Fantasy 14: Starter Edition.
The Persona 3 Reload expansion pass gets players access to three waves of DLC. The first wave, available March 12, includes the Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Sets, while the second wave, launching in May, features the Velvet Costume Pack and BGM Set. Finally, the third wave of Persona 3 Reload DLC will release in September and give players access to the highly-anticipated Answer DLC, aka Episode Aigis.
Final Fantasy 14: Starter Edition, meanwhile, gives players access to the wildly popular MMORPG complete with a 30-day membership and the Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood expansions. Needless to say, this should keep fans of Final Fantasy 14 busy for quite some time.
Both of these Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks are fitting, as Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy 14 are having their moment on Xbox. Persona 3 Reload was added to Xbox Game Pass as a day one game back in February, where it has enjoyed rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Final Fantasy 14, meanwhile, is finally making its way to Xbox on March 21 after spending years as a PC and PlayStation exclusive title. Xbox has clearly been making a concerted effort to make its brand more closely associated with big-name JRPGs, and it will be interesting to see if it pays off.

While may sell itself on its vast catalog, not every title is there to stay. Three games, including MLB the Show 23, will leave Microsoft’s subscription service at the end of March.
Three titles are leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 31. It's common practice for Microsoft to add plenty of new first and third-party titles to its popular subscription service each month, but it does also remove the occasional title to make way for them.
Microsoft has yet again updated the Xbox Game Pass Leaving Soon section, this time revealing three games that will seemingly be leaving the lineup come Sunday, March 31. The Xbox Game Pass Leaving Soon section gives subscribers advanced notice of when games are about to get the axe, even ahead of the official blog post announcement.
The announcement of a new game added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in March seems to be taking an aim at its competitor, Xbox Game Pass. Depending on the PS Plus subscription tier, players have access to a full library of titles they can download and play, even if they do not own them properly. Each month, new games are added to the library, essentially offering more benefits. The catalog was added once Sony remodeled its subscription service.
After being removed from Xbox Game Pass in February 2022, Remedy Entertainment‘s action-adventure game Control has returned to the service. To make things even better, subscribers will now get to experience the Ultimate Edition of the award-winning title.
Persona 3 Reload players can currently grab the game’s complete Expansion Pass on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Expansions and DLC packages are not normally offered on Xbox Game Pass as part of the subscription, so this is a unique opportunity for Persona fans.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox, which released day one on Xbox and PC Game Pass in April 2023, is getting a new Definitive Edition upgrade on April 26. It will be free for PC and Xbox players, thanks to Xbox Game Pass, while the new edition will cost $24.99 for PS5 players.
