The delay will also be used to reach greater parity with the PC version, which had more time for improvements in the later stages of development.

Although high-end PCs are technically the most capable machines for gaming, optimization on PC can be much more scattershot, so it seems likely that the console versions could see a more stable release with better performance. Studio Wildcard will likely be working on the PC issues in the meantime, but it may take some time for the Steam release to meet satisfying standards for stability on the average system.
