If you're plugged into the world of gaming, you will have heard of the Steam Deck by now, even if you didn't know there was also an amped-up OLED version available to buy.

As an enjoyer of PC games, the only thing that could possibly be better than a Steam Deck OLED is a free Steam Deck OLED. Or maybe money to buy all my wishlisted games. The Game Awards 2023 is offering up a chance to get Valve’s new handheld via a giveaway that starts tonight.
The Game Awards 2023 kicks off today, December 7, at 7:30 pm EST. Once it starts, you can navigate over to the Steam Deck OLED giveaway page for a chance to get one for free. The Game Awards is also shelling out for the 1 TB version, not the 512 GB OLED, meaning you could potentially save yourself $649 to buy one yourself. The giveaway begins as the show starts, and will end at 11 pm EST tonight. Those chosen will get an email on Friday, December 8.
The Game Awards is using a Gleam widget on the giveaway page with a countdown leading to the start of the show. To enter, you’ll need to provide contact information such as your email address, name, and address. You’re also required to have a Steam account. During the show, you’ll have to follow the Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards accounts on X/Twitter.
It looks like following all the steps will award four entries, which you can use during the giveaway. There are more rules, of course, and not every country qualifies. So be sure to check out the page ahead of time.
If you don’t want a free Steam Deck OLED, The Game Awards has other giveaways. There are 100 Lenovo Legion Go handhelds on offer tonight. The AMD-powered rival handheld has an MSRP of $699.99 for the 512 GB model. Getting it potentially for free certainly sounds much more desirable. You may also win tickets for Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Ever since the first Steam Deck came out, I’ve been a fan. I bought the Deck in the first wave of units, getting mine a few weeks after it initially launched in 2022, and it has certainly been put through its paces with me. I’ve traveled the world with my Steam library following me wherever I went, from Iceland, Canada and more. I’ve loved this device, even with its limitations.

There is no shame in spending your early teen years painting gaming peripherals to make them More Badass. Yet when actor Timothée Chalamet started hitting it big in Hollywood, either he or someone in his inner circle scrubbed away his gamer past.
If Alan Wake 2 didn’t completely melt your face, Poets of the Fall are back to finish the job.
As the Greater Chicagoland Area's number one Matthew McConaughey fan and one of its notable BioWare-likers, having him pop up at The Game Awards to announce he'd appear in a new RPG from some BioWare old hands feels tailor-made to make me freak out. The True Detective actor will have an unspecified role in Exodus, the debut game from Archetype Entertainment.
