Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Launches on December 7th

Developer NeocoreGames has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr now has a definitive edition release out on PC. The definitive edition aims to bundle all content released for the action RPG since its original launch.

Enhanced first-person shooter remake Kingpin: Reloaded will launch for PC via Steam on December 5, publishers 3D Realms and Interplay, and developer Slipgate Ironworks announced. A release date for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch versions were not announced.

Developer Fatshark has posted a new deep dive into the upcoming talent trees that will be coming to co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The new talent trees will be part of patch 13 on PC, as well as Xbox release of the game on October 4.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories will launch for Switch on December 21, 2023 in Japan, followed by PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2024, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Groove Box Japan announced. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally, while the PlayStation 4 version will be digital-only.

When looking at the breadth of war games out there, the ones that inspire players to buy, paint, and field massive armies in skirmishes with each other, few names loom quite so large as Warhammer 40,000. But with Rogue Trader, Owlcat Games is giving the 40K universe a slightly different treatment. And to me, they look like the right studio to do it.

It's been a great year for roleplaying game fans thanks to the release of several great games, chiefly the long-awaited cRPG Baldur's Gate 3 (now in pole position for Game of the Year awards after a near-flawless critical reception), and Owlcat Games made it even better when it announced that Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader would launch in early December on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

Open-world multiplayer survival game Smalland: Survive the Wilds will leave Early Access and launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on December 7, Merge Games announced. The console versions are newly announced.

Magicians Dead: Force of the Soul will launch for PlayStation 4 on December 28 in Japan, publisher Oizumi Amuzio and developer Byking announced.

Is there any appetite for a deep, sci-fi roleplaying experience amongst the PlayStation faithful? Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is (shockingly) the first isometric CRPG set in Game's Workshop bleak universe, developed by Owlcat Games, creators of the excellent Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. It finally has a release date: prepare for a grimdark future in which there is only war from 7th December on PS5.

The CRPG is looking like it might be one of the best Warhammer 40k games in a while, and fortunately we won’t be waiting too long to play it. Built by the team behind Pathfinder videogame Wrath of the Righteous and based on the tabletop RPG of the same name, Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader promises to follow in the footsteps of Baldur’s Gate 3 in delivering faithful tabletop adaptations.

 RPG fans out there are really getting their fill this year, and it looks like 2023 might be going out with a bang. The release date trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has just dropped, and—barring any unexpected delays—we'll be getting our hands on Owlcat Games' latest RPG on December 7.
