Warframe, the highly popular free-to-play sci-fi third-person shooter game, is finally about to land on mobile devices starting with iOS. Digital Extremes, the Canadian studio behind Warframe, has revealed in a blog post that the title is about to launch on Apple's ecosystem, joining the likes of Death Stranding Director’s Cut and many more. With the recent huge uplift in mobile platform capabilities, it seems like an increasing number of developers are seeing iOS as the next big platform to tap into. The good thing is that we won't have to wait long here since Warframe is expected to debut on the App Store on Tuesday, February 20.
Moreover, cross-platform play and cross-save are fully implemented, so iOS players will be stepping into the same universe played by PC and console users. Logging in during launch week (beginning February 20) will allow them to claim the following free Day 1 Login Rewards: a 3-Day Affinity Booster and a Bombyx Syandana.
A "dedicated" mobile port has been in the works for quite some time now, with the firm previously announcing plans back in July 2021. Digital Extremes is also working on the Android version of Warframe, which will be released at a later date. Meanwhile, users can pre-register at this URL.
As a reminder, a new expansion called Warframe 1999 will be released later this year. It will be a sort of prequel, featuring a character called Arthur who appears to be using prototype armor similar to Excalibur. The story will show Arthur (played by Ben Starr, who voiced Final Fantasy XVI protagonist Clive Rosfield) trying to find the elusive Dr. Albrecth Entrati, one the most important characters in Warframe lore. Interestingly, the Warframe 1999 demo shown so far features the licensed song 'The Void' from Nine Inch Nails, which was released in 1999. It also includes references to the Millennium Bug and concept art from Dark Sector, the predecessor of Warframe.
More will be revealed at TennoCon 2024, slated for July 19-20 in London, Ontario, Canada.

MultiVersus was the biggest game in the world for about a week, before an iffy Battle Pass and tardy updates plunged its appeal, and prompted Player1stGames to unexpectedly pull the whole thing offline. The release was never meant to disappear entirely, of course, and the developer has been beavering away on some important updates behind-the-scenes. Now it appears it’s finally poised to return.

For those who want to prepare for the release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl later this year by replaying the series' original trilogy, I have good news. Superman is going global. James Gunn’s 2025 movie, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, is currently filming in Norway – and it’s already led to the confirmation of a returning iconic location.
Back in 2022, Vera Drew’s highly personal, incredibly irreverent stylized memoir movie The People’s Joker made a splashy debut at the Toronto International Film Festival — in that immediately after its premiere, DC Comics’ parent company, Warner Bros., filed a cease-and-desist order against the movie, shutting down all subsequent screenings and throwing the movie’s future into doubt. It’s taken years for the film to see the light of day, outside of the occasional festival screening. I saw it at the 2023 Fantastic Fest, where Vera Drew was present to talk about the experience, but was careful not to address the question of whether her film might ever get a real theatrical run. But now, according to the poster, it’s “coming soon. Legally. Seriously.”
Modiphius Entertainment, the studio behind science-fiction-inspired tabletop games such as Dune: Adventures in the Imperium, Fallout: Factions, and the Homeworld TTRPG has leveled up. Its next offering is a cooperative, story-driven board game titled Mass Effect the Board Game — Priority: Hagalaz. Better still is the fact that it’s been built by acclaimed designer Eric Lang (Blood Rage, Life in Reterra) and Calvin Wong Tze Loon 黃子倫 (Crazy Rich Asians).

Expectations were pretty much rock bottom going into Pokemon Day this year, with Game Freak's most recent outings having disappointed heavily in recent years. There wasn't much that could've generated a lot of excitement and positivity among the community, but Nintendo and Game Freak managed to do so with the announcement of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which will take players back to the Kalos region for a new adventure.
