After several delays that left many VR players in anticipation, Team 21 Studio has finally announced the launch of the Beta 1 testing phase for their virtual reality MMORPG, Ilysia. The delay was originally attributed to MagePortal updates, which had caused a stir in the community, but the developers have now resolved the bug that pushed the Beta back several weeks.
In a series of Discord messages, Kosmos, the T21 Community Manager, detailed the new schedule and reassured players of the team's commitment to a smooth experience. Beta 1 has finally began on August 12th and will run through August 16th, with the servers going live at 5 pm EDT. Following this, Beta 2 is slated to go live from August 18th to August 23rd.
To compensate for the short notice and previous delay, both Beta 1 and Beta 2 have been extended by a couple of days. Additionally, players who purchased a Beta 1 Bundle will have access to Beta 2 as well. However, even after fixing the Mage Portal issues, the team has since responded to reports of users that are unable to download the game by requesting they clear cookies and try again.
The focus of Beta 1 is large-scale network stress testing, and the team anticipates instances of disconnections during the tutorial phase. Players encountering any issues are advised to wait momentarily and try reconnecting.
Despite the issues many players are expected to counter (and some issues that will undoubtedly be unexpected) Beta 1 is a tremendous step for Team21 Studios as they charge towards a full release. Judging by the response from players in the official Discord, the excitement surrounding Ilysia's Beta launch is palpable. The developers' communication and willingness to extend the testing phases has certainly resonated well with the community. For more details on the previous delay, refer to our previous coverage, and stay tuned for more information on Ilysia.

Before Diablo 4 came out, Blizzard had concerns that their latest ARPG would tank the popularity of their most recent entry in the series, Diablo Immortal, Blizzard's franchise general manager Rod Fergusson tells RPS. Immortal, which launched last year as a free-to-play MMO game, left quite a bad taste in our mouths when it launched on PC, especially when it came to the prohibitively high cost of its various microtransactions. Despite this, though, the game's continued to enjoy great success over on mobile, but even Blizzard weren't sure whether its popularity would last once Diablo 4 arrived.
After Apple Vision Pro was unveiled during the keynote session of the WWDC 2023 event, Apple invited the developer community to its brand new Apple Vision Pro labs, where they could have conversations to understand how their apps would be featured, and the changes they would have to make in order to optimize its performance with the device. This is a pretty standard affair that developers do every year for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. However, visionOS is different since it is an entirely new technology that allows users to interact with the platform in a vastly different way. The AR/VR device reimagines how people interact with a computer by making the experience entirely visual.
Diablo Immortal’s 17th Season is coming with the new update, which also adds dozens of new Legendary items, a new Battle Pass, atweaked Conqueror PvP event, and the arrival of Training Grounds.
Cozy MMO Palia has received its "first real patch" since its open beta launched last week, and it adds new quests, quality-of-life fixes, pets, and more.
The water vibrating in the cup on the dashboard. The velociraptor peering through the kitchen window. Jeff Goldblum's bare chest. Jurassic Park is chock-full of memorable moments that have been burned in cinema-goers' minds since its 1993 release – but according to one fan, one super important line has been overlooked over the years.
Cosy life sim MMO Palia is now available in public beta.
It has been a long while since anyone has heard anything from World of Titans. The MMO in development was forced to close its demo earlier this year, and there have been a few scattered updates since.
After a week in closed beta, cozy MMO Palia is entering its open beta phase today, welcoming everyone into its online life sim of gathering, gardening, and decorating. It's been a hectic week for the developers, who have been combating server issues all throughout the closed beta. Despite that, Singularity 6 is pushing its free-to-play game out into the public today with promises to continue working on fixes to the issues players have been experiencing.
Palia is one of the only MMOs that I’ve had my eye on for ages, thanks to its cozy Stardew Valley type of vibe and its World of Warcraft-like role-playing features. Following a lengthy timeline of closed beta invite releases, Singularity 6 has just announced that the developers have opened its beta to the public for Palia, meaning that we can all jump into the game’s stunning world right now and see how well it blends the wholesome with the whimsical.
