Diablo Immortal’s 17th Season is coming with the new update, which also adds dozens of new Legendary items, a new Battle Pass, atweaked Conqueror PvP event, and the arrival of Training Grounds.
Downtime begins tomorrow and the update will be fully live across all regions on Wednesday, August 23rd. When the update goes live in your region, there will be several feature updates, including two changes to combat where damage over time effects won't interrupt bandaging anymore, and Ultimate skills that normally provide a shield get an increased duration from 3 to 5 seconds. The devs explain the changes, for the latter, they wanted to boost the use of ultimate skills which are underused, according to their data.
On the change to DoT: “Damage over time effects have been overly oppressive because of Seeping Bile and other long duration DOT effects preventing players from healing, despite players successfully exiting combat” They want to give players a chance to disengage and be able to avoid death more often.
The patch also adds a new Training Grounds option. When you use it, you can see how much damage your skills and primary attacks do, see how your gems affect all of that, and also test out a number of other combinations and options to put together your best.
The Conquerorlimited time PvP event is also starting on Wednesday through September 6th. You can enter a conqueror PVP match either using your own build or using a pre-constructed character build for your class. All characters will be set to level 60 and all gear rank will be set at level 1. This is a skill-based challenge and there have been a few changes. Teams are now eight players instead of 10, with player health getting a 30% boost. Daily tasks during the event are now weekly tasks (with rewards including Legendary items and set items). The option to use pre-made builds is also new.
Battleground Season 2 is also set to begin on August 28th, with a 10-week season that will feature improved matchmaking, tweaks to scoring and stat compression, and more.
Finally, Season 17, “Ruptured Soul” includes a brand new Battle Pass and will arrive on August 31st. There are 40 ranks of challenges and rewards that you can earn via the free or premium pass options.
