Valve launches new Steam Families household game sharing tools

Walmart+ has some good news for Xbox gamers looking for the latest deals for Xbox Game Pass. Members of Walmart+ can receive codes for the highest tier of Microsoft's flagship gaming subscription service, Game Pass Ultimate, at no additional cost. However, there's a catch.

Vodafone Idea has launched Cloud Play, a cloud gaming service for mobile platforms, promising premium mobile games like Asphalt 9, Modern Combat 5, Shadow Fight, and more. The service, introduced in partnership with Paris-based cloud gaming firm CareGame, will be subscription based, with prices starting at Rs. 100 per month. Cloud Play will be available on both iOS and Android devices and can be accessed via the Vi app or website.

Developer Canari Games has unveiled a new 2D action adventure game titled Castaway. The game, inspired by classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, features a pixel-based art style, and one of its main selling points is its level of accessibility for all ages. Word has it that a new Prince of Persia game is being developed by Evil Empire, the studio behind the hit indie roguelike Dead Cells — and it might launch sometime later this year. Ubisoft’s legendary Prince of Persia franchise had been nearly dormant for over 10 years when a new side-scrolling spin-off titled Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was launched to rave reviews in January. Despite reportedly underperforming in sales, The Lost Crown was praised for its Metroidvania gameplay that blended platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving.

The monthly PS Plus Essential update has arrived, granting all members of Sony's subscription service access to three new PS5, PS4 titles. It seems like Prince of Persia games are just like buses - you wait ages for one and then two show up at the same time. Less than three months after the release of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, it's being reported that Ubisoft plans on releasing another Prince of Persia game later this year, this time a roguelite developed by the studio behind the DLC for hit indie title Dead Cells, Evil Empire.

A regular rogue's gallery of independent game developers - including the creators of Dead Cells, Slay The Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Spiritfarer, Terraria and V Rising - have clubbed together to run their own videogame showcase: the Triple-I Initiative. Initially screening on 10th April, it'll be a 45-minute, unhosted, back-to-back series of trailers, reveals and surprise game or demo releases, designed (as per the press release) "to highlight fan-favorite games and hype up established indie classics as well as new IPs". It could become a yearly thing, but that'll obviously depend on how well the first showcase goes down.

Developer Colossal Order has released a the first post-launch asset pack for Cities: Skylines 2 titled Beach Properties. The asset pack is available on all platforms, and is priced at $9.99. The Beach Properties asset pack is also available as part of the Cities: Skylines 2 Waterfronts Expansion Pass, as well as the game’s Ultimate Edition release.

Palia is now available on Steam, giving gamers a new cozy game to check out. There has been a recent influx of cozy games, becoming seemingly more popular in the current generation than any other. This newer addition, Palia, has been accessible elsewhere in the form of an open beta for some time. The community-sim MMO allows players to build a life and make friends in a vibrant fantasy world that features elements of crafting, decoration, and even romance.

Ubisoft’s strategy for releasing games on PC has frustrated many in recent years, particularly with the lack of Steam versions of games at launch. Many of the company’s titles do, of course, eventually end up releasing for the platform belatedly, and another one will soon be following suit.

Gameplay footage for the rumored Sonic the Hedgehog battle royale spin-off has just been leaked online, giving interested fans a glimpse at its fast-paced multiplayer action.
