A Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event kicked off in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis on February 16. This development arrives mere weeks ahead of the much-anticipated RPG's release, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled to launch on February 29.

Popular upcoming mobile game Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live has announced both the launch of the game's Global version and its shutdown date at the same time. The newest game from the massively popular idol anime franchise comes on the heels of its predecessor, Love Live! School Idol Festival, ending its service early last year. The original mobile rhythm game boasted more than 40 million players at its peak in 2018, split between the Global and Japanese versions. Now, the game has announced the launch of the Global version, while also confirming its end-of-service.

Game developer People Can Fly has laid off around thirty developers from an unannounced Square Enix game codenamed Project Gemini. The news was broken yesterday by Kotaku, which obtained an email sent by Development Director Adam Alker to his fellow employees. Alker chalked the layoffs to budget limitations and a decision to shrink the game's scope.
