Upcoming PS5 Update Adding Major New Community Feature

The PS5 Slim just launched in India on April 5 and a homegrown quick-commerce service is already delivering the console to customers within just 10 minutes. The online retailer is shipping both the digital and disc variants of the PS5 Slim.

Sony has announced the launch of the latest version of its gaming console, the PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim in India. The PS5 was launched globally in 2019 and was highly sought after, so much so that scalpers started reselling it on eBay for massive profits. With the shortage over and gamers enjoying a selection of excellent games, Sony has launched the latest iteration of the PS5, dubbed the PS5 Slim.

The latest update for Helldivers 2 has sneakily added new enemies, including four-legged colossal machines. Recently, Helldivers 2 released its second major update, bringing several gameplay modifiers and bumping up the level cap from 50 to 150. The top-down shooter game has introduced balance changes, including the SG-8S Slugger shotgun nerf, which has sparked debate among players.

Sony has announced that the slimmer variant of the PlayStation 5 console, which first launched in the US in November last year, will be available in India, starting April 5. Both the disc and digital editions of PS5 slim will go on sale in the country this week, with stock availability at participating retailers confirmed. PS5 slim, a lighter and thinner version of the original console, retains much of the PlayStation 5 design language, but comes with a detachable disc drive and slightly bigger storage.

After suffering a recent, but narrow major order defeat, Helldivers 2 players are asking developer Arrowhead Game Studios to implement a way to see supply lines between planets. Part of the appeal of Helldivers 2, outside of the chaotic nature of missions where unplanned events can take place, is the game's living world. As players take on missions, they directly influence the galactic war by liberating planets, or on occassion, losing them to the enemy factions as well. This push and pull aspect keeps the game feeling fresh and dynamic, as the global map is constantly changing as progress is made or lost.

PS5 Pro specs have been the subject of numerous leaks over recent months, and the last couple of weeks in particular have shed a great deal of light on alleged details on the rumoured mid-gen console refresh. But with supposed enhancements like its proprietary supersampling tech dubbed PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling (or PSSR), 45 percent faster rendering, and more, how exactly is Sony hoping developers will take advantage of the console’s more powerful hardware?

Sony hasn’t really missed a beat in its transition from the PS4 to the PS5 where hardware sales are concerned, with the company’s current-gen console consistently selling solid numbers, and though it’s highly unlikely that it will manage to beat the PS2’s lifetime sales total of 160 million units, outgoing PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan says that the PS5 is still very much on track to become the company’s “most successful console ever” by other metrics.

A future PS5 update has been revealed, in which the 'Game Help' section of the system's interface will be significantly expanded upon. The new 'Community Game Help' is exactly what it sounds like: players will be able to reference gameplay clips from other users when they're stuck on a certain in-game objectives, challenges, or Trophies.

Amid a cascade of PS5Pro rumors, there's now a leak that points to the minimum requirements games will have to match in order to be eligible for the «PS5 Pro Enhanced» tag. These games would offer an improved gameplay experience, with better graphics and a higher frame rate, while running on the rumored Pro model of the PlayStation 5.

The upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive action game Stellar Blade will be missing a photo mode when it launches on April 26. Stellar Blade, developed by Shift Up and published by Sony, has been generating quite a bit of buzz lately. There's been a great deal of discussion about the game's main character, and beyond that, many have come away impressed with the game's over-the-top action. Many PS5 gamers are looking forward to Stellar Blade's release later this month, but luckily, they don't have to wait that long to play it.
