Graewolv’s upcoming occult-infused tactical shooter is to receive a live-action movie adaptation.
The film adaptation will be created in partnership with the Malmö-based production company Studios Extraordinaires, spearheaded by André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson.
Studio Extraordinaires recently announced it was adapting another video game with the sci-fi horrorFort Solis.
Veil is a new IP from Graewolv; a dark, stylish, and deadly world, filled with action-horror adventures, based around occult societies in the city of Velumgrad. Faustian bargains are being struck between demonic creatures from a parallel world and ambitious humans seeking godlike powers. As The Veil grows in their city, these anti-heroes find themselves trapped between their ambition, their demonic patrons, and the growing animosity among Velumgrad’s factions.
You can get a taste of the world of Veil with pre-alpha footage of the video game version.
“We are very pleased to partner with Studios Extraordinaires with the mutual ambition to bring the VEIL universe to bigger screens. For us, it’s a natural step to building VEIL into a transmedia franchise, and Extraordinaires is a great partner in that endeavor”, says Martin Ekdal, Founder and Creative Director of Graewolv. “We can see several success stories of late where gaming IP was adapted to linear, but we see VEIL’s journey differently. Not as an afterthought, something brought about once a game is successful; we are building our IP ground up for transmedia storytelling.”
Studios Extraordinaires, spearheaded by André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson, specializes in crafting high-end action, horror, and science-fiction films inspired by original stories and extraordinary games.
“The concept of this veil serving as a conduit between our world and another, allowing Faustian deals to unfold, captivated us instantly. It’s akin to a demonically charged John Wick if you will”. – says André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson of Studios Extraordinaires “The universe crafted by Martin and the Graewolv team is unlike anything you have ever seen and we can’t wait to bring this demonic-powered action horror to life as a feature film”.
It’s been a big week for, as yet another character — Dina — has been cast for the next season of the HBO video game adaptation.
HBO has announced that actress Kaitlyn Dever has joined The Last of Us Season 2 cast as Abby, who is Ellie’s rival in the second video game.

I knew I was in for a stomach-churning time with Divine Frequency's demo after I finally acquired my first weapon. I came up to a fenced hallway in the game's vast industrial underbelly and spied an ominous figure looming way down the hall. The light above it cut out, I turned around, and there it was: a horrible faceless mannequin an eyelash's length away.
is set to reprise his role as Stoick the Vast in the upcoming live-action How To Train Your Dragon remake.
Steven Spielberg’s 1991 fantasy Hook feels like the true father of Disney’s massive wave of live-action remakes and spinoffs of its classic animated features, but it wasn’t actually made by Walt Disney Studios. Disney took another two decades to really see the appeal of that kind of big blockbuster brand extension, once the billion-dollar box office for Tim Burton’s CG-filled Alice in Wonderland and the similarly massive take for the villain backstory Maleficent made the live-action formula seem like a gold mine. Disney has been cranking them out ever since, generally producing hits that many people see, and few people love.
Jack Black has joined the cast of the in-development live-action Minecraft movie. Rumors about this casting popped up yesterday, January 2, with Deadline reporting that Black would play Steve (the Minecraft guy with the teal shirt and blue pants). Notably, Black starred as the villainous Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie last year, giving us the instant-classic «Peaches,» too.
Every few years, a new action movie recalibrates expectations for the genre. It happened in 2011 with The Raid: Redemption, it happened in 2014 with John Wick, and it’s about to happen again with Mayhem!, the new revenge thriller from many of the people behind the brilliant first season of Gangs of London.
Ever since its release, fans have been asking for a live-action movie adaptation of Alien: Isolation. Ridley Scott and Disney, are you paying attention?
Add another video game adaptation to the list, y’all. According to a Twitter (X) post by the official Bendy account, the horror game Bendy and the Ink Machine is gracing the silver screen. The film will be produced by Radar Pictures and Joey Drew Studios, who make the series.
