Treehouse Games has taken the wraps off its debut title, Voyagers of Nera, a cooperative survival crafting game set in a magical oceanic world.
The title announced at the Wholesome Snack 2023: The Game Awards Edition show is set to debut on Steam in early access in 2024.
Designed for collaborative play with up to 16 players, Voyagers of Nera invites gamers into a realm teeming with enigmatic islands, magic, and camaraderie. Players embark on seafaring escapades, construct settlements, and forge an extraordinary bond with the living spirit of their island.
The announcement trailer offers a glimpse into the players’ pivotal role as guardians entrusted with restoring harmony to a world in turmoil. Featuring oceanic exploration, enchanting interactions with mystical creatures, and collaborative village-building, the trailer teases an immersive gaming experience.
Players craft and personalize their shared island’s settlement, nurturing the island spirit and unlocking new possibilities. As they progress, the game offers enhanced tools, formidable gear, and opportunities to expand the island’s physical expanse.
Treehouse Games is led by industry veterans including cofounder Ryan Sullivan, who previously worked on the heartwarming RPG Guildlings. Cofounder Andrea Sepenzis, game director, is focused on creating an inclusive, collaborative, and imaginative game that appeals to a diverse audience, including women and cooperative players.
“Voyagers of Nera is an exploration into the heart of cooperative gaming, fostering diverse contributions from players with various playstyles,” said Sullivan, in a statement. “Our aim is to create a game that emphasizes cooperation, shared progression, and creative expression, steering away from the grim and challenging survival mechanics prevalent in the genre.”
Players can wishlist the game on Steam and stay updated on playtesting and early access details through the Treehouse Games Discord.
Treehouse Games was founded in 2020 by industry veterans from Riot Games and indie startups.

It was, by all accounts, a strange 2023 for Xbox. Its games were all over the board, and the company itself spent most of the year embroiled in the process of getting Activision Blizzard into the figurative catcher’s mitt.
In the gaming space, the evolution of a franchise over the course of years is vital for it to stay relevant. If you can’t maintain a certain quality level, things will go badly for you. But, if you take the time to reinvent yourself, the results can speak for themselves. A great example from 2023 is Mario, who had a “wonder-ful” new title showcase how Nintendo isn’t afraid to change things up on a large scale. Last year had an equally big shift via God of War Ragnarok and how it depicted Kratos and those around him.
The Epic Games Store will give away 17 free games over the Christmas period.

Disney has spoken about Knights of the Old Republic Remake as the fate of the game remains unclear.
Microsoft’s high-profile legal battle with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over the fate of its $69 billion buyout of Activision Blizzard unearthed a number of explosive revelations, among them the fact Microsoft renegotiated ZeniMax's deal with Disney to make Bethesda's upcoming Indiana Jones game exclusive to Xbox and PC, thus ditching the PlayStation 5 version.
I’m sure you recall the MachineGames announcement a few years back. It was unveiled that the development studio was working on an Indiana Jones video game. Little was unveiled about the title, and since its reveal, it’s been mainly kept under wraps. We’re not sure just what to expect with this game. However, we’re finding out that after Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media, the Xbox team quickly hit Disney up. A new report has surfaced today that unveiled renegotiations over the Indiana Jones license to ensure that Microsoft could keep this game an exclusive title.
The upcoming Indiana Jones by MachineGames is being developed as an Xbox console exclusive title, and Disney feels like Xbox exclusivity made sense for it, as it won't limit it reach in any significant way.
From Star Wars to Naruto, Epic Games has managed to nab all kinds of brand crossovers for its skins and characters - and it still hasn't counted out going for Nintendo.
