What initially appears to be a useless money sink hides one of the most powerful effects in the game.

I caught the first couple of episodes last week, and while I find the show's aesthetics off-putting - it's kind of a Fallout themepark, rather than a convincing world - I do think there's the makings of a fun tale here.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has some aggravating quests, but none of them are as stressful as ‘Spellbound‘ and ‘The Sorcerer’s Appraisal‘ — two quests that make you track down books that are some of the rarest items in the game. These books look like any other spell tome at first glance, but they’re far more valuable and most only have a single copy. You’ll have to search every corner of the map to get six of these Grimoires, much less all ten. If you’re struggling to find the last Grimoires available, or if you just need a few more and want help, we’ve got locations for all of them.

Portcrystals are the most valuable items in Dragon’s Dogma 2. These portable blue crystals can be placed anywhere on the map and they’re the only method for fast-traveling in the game. By placing a Portcrystal, or using one of the two rare permanent Portcrystal locations, you can instantly portal by spending a Ferrystone. Ferrystones aren’t cheap, but they’re worth it when travel can take so, so long. If you’re looking to grab the maximum amount of Portcrystals you can place anywhere on the map — but seriously, you’ll really need to place one in Bakbattahl and on the Volcanic Island — then here are six ways to get yourself extra Portcrystals.

Fulqrum Publishing have just released a story trailer for New Arc Line, a new steampunk fantasy RPG in which dragons rub shoulders with zeppelins, and dwarves are as abundant as air pollution. I hadn't heard of it before and am quite interested, partly because the game sports some wonderfully mangled and colourful dystopian maps, and partly because it's a story of immigrants trying to find their way to an inevitably deceptive "shining city of progress", rather than the typical Chosen One fare.
