Cygames has a new update available for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, but before you get excited, it’s not Seofon and Tweyen, the two new playable characters who arrive later this month. Instead, Ver. 1.1.4 features a handful of changes, like raising the drop rates of Tears of the Apocalypse and Dark Reside from “The Final Vision” quest.

As showcased in yesterday’s livestream, the latest update for Granblue Fantasy: Relink is available today for PS4, PS5 and PC players. Before its next showcase for Granblue Fantasy: Relink on April 25th, Cygames has confirmed that Seofon and Tweyen will be added to the roster for free on April 26th. The stream will provide a “deep dive” into Version 1.2.0 and likely reveal new content tied to the two Eternals.

Developer Cygames has released a new update for action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink. The update, numbered at version 1.1.0, is available on PC, PS4 and PS5, and brings with a new boss fight against Lucilius, as well as other content and gameplay adjustment.

Cygames revealed the first major post-launch update coming to Granblue Fantasy: Relink on March 14th in a recent stream. However, alongside Lucilius and the reveal of Sandalphon as an upcoming character, it showcased the first gameplay for Seofon and Tweyen, the Immortals arriving in late April. Check it out below.

Cygames has released a new trailer for the upcoming Granblue Fantasy: Relink, this time around focused squarely at the Japanese market. The trailer, airing on Japanese TV, is a live action ad for the upcoming action RPG.  The ad features actor Takumi Kitamura grabbing a sword floating in the sky. The Steam page for Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink has been updated, showcasing the system requirements for the upcoming action RPG. While it requires Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 11 is needed instead of DirectX 12. However, PC players need a whopping 90 GB of installation space and a solid-state drive.

Cygames’ free demo for Granblue Fantasy: Relink is now available, offering PS4 and PS5 players a quick look at the action RPG before its launch. It offers 11 playable characters, including Gran, Katalina, Charlotta, Narmaya, Siegfried, Zeta and more. There are also Assist Modes to help new players learn the ropes.

At the 9:30 mark, Gran and his crew arrive in a desert environment, tackling all kinds of ferocious enemies while gliding along the sand. Eventually, they face a massive griffin boss.

With the new year nearly upon us, one of the biggest games to look forward to is also a title long in development. Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink was announced in August 2016 as Project Re:Link and is finally launching in February 2024. In case of any doubt, Cygames’ Yasuyuki Kaji revealed that development is “finally complete.”

Amid all the news and announcements for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Cygames has announced a new showcase for the action RPG. It will take place on January 11th, 2024, at 2 AM PT, featuring a walkthrough and some gameplay from a multiplayer quest.

Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink has much going on, with a Story Mode and over 100 quests to end-game content. The developer will provide a slice of its content in January with a free demo on PS4 and PS5. However, the journey doesn’t end at launch, as two new characters are coming in April 2024.

GranBlue Fantasy is one of the biggest anime franchises in the world, and yet its rise to stardom was the reverse of many of its peers, beginning life as a hit mobile game before extending into animation and manga. Whatever its roots, the tale, set within the multiple kingdoms of the Zegagranda Skydom, follows Gran and his companions across the skies, and now Cygames are set to bring the GranBlue Fantasy world to a wider audience with GranBlue Fantasy: Relink, a third-person action RPG with visuals lifted straight out of the anime.

Cygames recently hosted part 1 of itsGranblue Showcase, providing new details on Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. You can check out the action RPG from 44:16 onwards, with the developer revealing Ghandagoza as a playable character. As a brawler, he utilizes the Eternal Rage Style, executing combos to increase the attack of Raging Fist.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink releases on February 1, 2024.

Over seven years since it was first announced at Project Re: Link, Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink finally received a release date at Gamescom Opening Night Live. Granblue Fantasy is a known player when it comes to mobile games. It dominated the market for nearly a decade, and with new content released weekly since its inception, it is one of gaming’s most expansive MMORPGs. With millions of players worldwide, countless storylines, and a plethora of colorful characters, the franchise now enters a new unknown world — console gaming. 

The wait for Granblue Fantasy: Relink has been a long one, but there’s finally some clarity on when it’s going to launch. Previously, the game was set to launch this Winter, and now, Cygames has narrowed that down to February 1, 2024 with a new trailer.

While Cygames’ efforts with the Granblue Fantasy series have been bearing fruit in the fighting genre, Granblue Fantasy: Relink has been the source of restlessness and frustratio for many over the years. The action RPG has been a long time coming now, and details on it haven’t been as regular as many would want- but Cygames says it will have more to share on it soon.
