Game Freak’s final DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, launches next week. Check out the latest trailer below. While it introduces new areas like Blueberry Academy and the Terrarium, there’s also a new feature – the Synchro Machine.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk is nearly here, and with it will (presumably) come the end of Pokemon’s 9th generation. That said, judging from the final trailer for the DLC that launched today, it appears Game Freak is hoping to end these contentious games with a bang.

We’re officially a week away from the release of Part 2 of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC combination! Part 2, “The Indigo Disk,” will complete the story of “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero,” as promised yesterday; a new trailer has been released for the content so that fans can get even more excited about it! But with so much shown in the trailer, what do we make of it all? Well, first, the trailer reemphasized that the game will take players to the Blueberry Academy as part of a transfer student program, and through that program, all new options are available to you.

The Pokémon Company has revealed the final trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk ahead of its release next week.

The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak have released new information, video, and screenshots for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet downloadable content “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk,” which is due out on December 14. Today’s update introduces the Syncro Machine, the power of flight, and legendary Pokemon encounters.

After the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in 2022 – read Game Informer's review here – developer Game Freak revealed that the ninth generation of Pokémon would be getting two DLC expansions, just like Pokémon Sword and Shield did. The first installment was called The Teal Mask and it hit Switch on September 13. The second expansion, The Indigo Disk, hits Pokémon Scarlet and Violet next week, on December 14, and to celebrate its arrival, Game Freak and Nintendo released a four-minute trailer today showcasing some of the DLC's highlights. 

New leaks regarding the DLC for seem to indicate that the content will feature a groundbreaking new type combination, never before seen in the series. Although the franchise has been around for over 27 years, there are still a few combinations of types that have not been added to the games. Rock- and Ghost-type Pokémon, for instance, have not yet been developed, nor have Ice- and Poison-type creatures. Currently, nine type combinations are registered as unused in the series altogether, but that number could be changing for the better very soon.

A few new leaks about the DLC for seem to be hinting at one of the most broken Pokémon in the series. is the second expansion of DLC pack and will conclude the story initiated by the, which took place in Kitakami. Instead of sending players on a field trip to a faraway land, however, Trainers will partake in an exchange program with Blueberry Academy, the sister school to Paldea’s Naranja and Uva Academies, respectively. This location is set in the middle of the ocean and is officially part of the Unova region.

Apparently, a new Type will be introduced in the DLC for , which could be considered the 19th Type in the series. Ahead of the expansion’s release later in December, a series of information about the upcoming content has been leaked or highly rumored, which further teases those waiting to play. There are many leaks about the DLC, including new forms for a few beloved Legendaries like Koraidon and Miraidon.

The alleged release of Dokutaro in the DLC for seems imminent, as the second part of the expansion pack named is due to arrive in mid-December. The second DLC will continue the narrative that was started with DLC earlier this year. Instead of going on another field trip to Kitakami, however, players will be sent on an exchange program with Blueberry Academy in Unova, a sister school of Naranja and Uva Academies in Paldea, respectively. There, they will study and dedicate their efforts toward competitive battling.

The first round of previews for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet expansion of the Indigo Disk has arrived, and many with hands-on experience with the game have been praising the more challenging battles. The expansion is supposedly much more difficult for average players, and many should expect more sophisticated tactics.
