Tim Burton Is Against The Nightmare Before Christmas Getting Sequels or Reboot

After years of delays, overpromising, obfuscated skepticism, and a healthy dose of all around skepticism within the community, The Day Before finally launched in early access last week, and instantly, the game was met with widespread negative reception from players. Things only got worse from there, because just four days after the game’s release, developer Fntastic announced in a statement that the game had failed financially, and that the studio was, as such, shutting down.

After The Day Before's developer closed its doors for good, its publisher is now offering refunds for the canceled game.

I was there. Long before The Day Before ,  I was there. I was there when the H1Z1 virus hit, and it wasn't good. I was there when so many were lost to The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts . I gave Metal Gear Survive a chance, even after all of my friends said I shouldn’t. I survived them all in one way or another, and I never lost hope. But none of them could prepare me for The Day Before,  which before it had been out for aweek is now dead in the water.

One of the best city building games of recent years, Against the Storm, has come out of early access and into proper release. The survival city-builder beautifully blends roguelite and city-building mechanics into a series of well-balanced, bite-size city building experiences. Developers Eremite Games released the 1.0 update on December 8, adding an ironman challenge mode to cap off the game's launch features.

Acclaimed rogue-lite city-builder Against the Storm has exited early access and is now available on PC via Steam. It’s also playable for PC Game Pass subscribers. Check out the launch trailer below.

Archetype Entertainment and Blur Studio have announced Exodus, an action-adventure role-playing game featuring Matthew McConaughey, which deals with the theme of time dilation during space travel, much as in McConaughey movie Interstellar.

The Day Before was recently Steam's most wishlisted game, but on the day of its long-awaited and oft-delayed Early Access launch, it's marred by an 'Overwhelmingly Negative' Steam rating and countless reviews citing poor performance and missing features.

Following reports in November that Free Radical Design, the UK-based developer tasked with resurrecting TimeSplitters, would be next on the Embracer chopping block, CEO Lars Wingford has acknowledged the studio's precarious position. While the company has said nothing publicly yet, VGC reports that employees received a company-wide email from Wingford, which paints things in a fairly stark light:
