Want to make the combat in The Witcher 3 Next-Gen harder? This The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Combat Redux mod does just that.
Created by 'modder' suaohoward', the Combat Redux mod for the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 on PC introduces Souls-like combat difficulty. In order to make the game's combat more challenging, the modder has made 'Igni' and 'Quen' less effective. This applies to parry and countering as well. Also, attacking and dodging consume stamina when using this mod. Also, being hit reduces stamina. The enemy dodge indicator has been removed as well, and stamina regenerates slower when injured. Luckily, this also applies to opponents. It's an interesting modification for the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, and one that fans of the game will likely appreciate. As such, be sure to check it out if you're into Souls-like combat difficulty.
Before using this mod, it should be noted that other mods likely aren't compatible with this mod. As such, we suggest deactivating all other mods when trying out this new combat mod. The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Combat Redux Mod can be downloaded from Nexusmods here.
The Witcher 3 Next-Gen is available globally now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As expected, this mod is only available on PC. CD Projekt Red released the next-gen version late last year. The free update was announced back in 2020, but it took the Polish developer more than two years to actually release it. Aside from various visual and technical improvements such as ray tracing support, the next-gen update also packs faster loading times. Unfortunately, upon release on PC, the next-gen version caused some issues, including performance drops and crashes.
"Walking through Toussaint's capital of Beauclair provided stunning vistas left and right", we wrote last year. "At first glance, the game performed rather nicely on a high-end rig (Intel i7 12700K, GeForce RTX 4090), delivering around 120 frames per second with DLSS 3 enabled. However, the problems quickly kicked in, from the annoying stuttering that temporarily halves frame rates to a seemingly unending series of crashes. Seriously, it felt like The Witcher 3 Next-Gen crashed every two or three minutes or so, making our test a real pain. We had to stitch three different sessions together to gather the thirteen minutes of gameplay embedded above, and you can actually see a crash coming up right at the end of the video."

Fortnite is to increase the price of its in-game currency V-Bucks in a number of countries, including the US and across Europe. While publisher Epic Games attributed the decision to economic factors - citing previous “pricing alignment” in countries including the UK over the summer - the move will follow hundreds of job losses at the company, partially as the result of lower than expected revenue for their immensely popular battle royale shooter.
Epic is raising the price of V-Bucks in Fortnite for the second time this year, with the price changes now hitting Denmark, Japan, Sweden, and the United States on October 27.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been on a lot of people’s minds lately. The recent release of the Phantom Liberty DLC and the big 2.0 update has brought the game back into the fore (not that it ever truly left). However, it looks as though CD Projekt Red is ready to move onto something else.
Starfield was extensively playtested by Bethesda devs often working from home, and Todd Howard says this approach worked so well that the studio's going to apply the method to its future games, with the studio's next confirmed, albeit far-off project obviously being The Elder Scrolls 6.
Bethesda boss Todd Howard says Starfield was "basically done" by holiday 2022, and to help test the mammoth RPG, virtually everyone on the development team got a build to play on their own Xbox consoles and PCs at home.
Developer CD Projekt Red has apologized to Russian players for a number of anti-Russian messages that were included in the new Ukrainian localization of Cyberpunk 2077.
