After bouts of legal trouble and delays, Dark and Darker has finally entered Early Access — but you won't be finding it on Steam.

Puzzlebox solve ‘em up The Room entered the scene ten years ago, so developers Fireproof Games are celebrating the milestone anniversary with deep discounts across the entire slightly spooky series. From September 1st to September 14th, every single game in the puzzler series will enjoy a discount of up to 90% on Steam. Similarly big sales are taking place across the Nintendo eShop (until September 22nd) and the Google Play Store (until September 8th), if you wanted to take the lovely headscratchers on the go. Or to the comfort of your own bed.

For a number of years now, Sony has brought PlayStation to ChinaJoy, one of the largest gaming exhibitions in Asia. It's set to take part yet again in 2023, with the event scheduled between 28th and 31st July at Shanghai's New International Expo Center. So, what's Sony bringing to the showfloor?

Plans for a PS4 iteration of long-in-development cosmic horror FPS Quantum Error have been cancelled, with developer TeamKill citing qualitative issues in a statement that approaches humblebrag. In 2020, we wondered if this spooky shooter might be a PS5 launch title, and in the years since, it's been moulded into a tense-looking experience, and a technically-demanding one, at that. Ubisoft knows its way around compelling open worlds, but Star Wars Outlaws is shaping up to be one of its biggest and most densely detailed yet. As previously announced, each planet in the release will be fully explorable, with enough open space to give you a meaningful sense of adventure. And the French publisher is handcrafting every one: there’s no procedural generation.

One of the most striking, and best-received, PSVR2 titles to date is C-Smash VRS, a virtual reality reboot of SEGA's cult classic Dreamcast game, Cosmic Smash. Sony will reportedly release an upgraded PS5 Pro hardware model in November 2024, according to a report from Tom Henderson, who’s successfully leaked PlayStation’s hardware plans in the past. The Insider Gaming scribe – this time writing for Key to Gaming – accurately outed the Japanese giant’s Remote Play streaming handheld Project Q prior to its official unveiling, and has had inside information on a variety of other products, including its line of INZONE headphones.

Select European countries like Spain and Portugal have recently been enjoying discounts of up to €100 on PS5 systems, but a new claim from PS Plus leaker billbil-kun states the sale price will be expanded to other countries soon. While the leaker doesn't know when the promotion will begin, they've posted the sort of discounts UK, USA, and German residents can look forward to.
