Avengers Endgame had a five-year time jump from 2018 to 2023, showing the heroes who survived the Snap learning to live with the aftermath. Captain America led group therapy sessions, Hawkeye went on a revenge-fueled killing spree, and Thor founded New Asgard in Norway. But of all the fantastical things to happen in the MCU, people found Korg and Meep still playing Fortnite's first chapter five years later far-fetched. If only they knew.
Fortnite OG launched last week, breaking the game's all-time player peak twice in just a matter of days. It brought back the game's first chapter and map at almost exactly the same time as when we saw Korg and NoobMaster69 getting into an online fight. So, not that unrealistic after all.
NoobMaster69 turned out to be Aaron. Remember him? Really iconic Marvel hero, Aaron? Oh, you don't remember him - shocker. He was an Apple employee in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, though he says his younger cousin came up with his PSN name.
Endgame is set in October, so we're a month late. However, fans speculate that for whatever reason, the Snap slightly sped up the game's timeline. Obviously, the real explanation is that the Russo Brothers decided to put Fortnite in the movie and that's just how it looked in 2018, but that's no fun.
So, if we were in the MCU, Iron Man would've died a few weeks ago and billions of people would've popped back up out of thin air, only to discover that their favourite battle royale hasn't changed much at all. Well, I doubt the first thing on their mind would be their battle pass progress, but maybe that explains the player peak breaking, eh?
Korg is still playing on a PS4, though. Either he didn't shell out for the newest generation or the Snap also stopped the PS5 from existing. Definitely reading too much into a silly coincidence. I'm sure The Marvels will have all the answers, though.
Fans don't want this to be a one-off thing. Many are calling on Epic Games to make Fortnite OG a permanent game mode, keeping Chapter 1 and its map available past this season. That way, we really can play it in five years time.
It wouldn't be the first time that Fortnite has made a popular limited-time mode permanent. It did with Zero Build, which means you can now experience Chapter 1 at long last without those sweaty architects who build castles in seconds while you stand awkwardly in a field waiting for them to finish. Do you think Korg plays with building on? Bet he does.

Christmas horror movies provide the perfect antidote to all the candy-coated festivities of the holiday season and there have been quite a few good ones in the past. We’ve had David Harbour as an axe-wielding Santa in Violent Night, Anna and the Apocalypse brought us a zombie Christmas musical, and who could forget the daddy of them all, Gremlins.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe can’t escape the quippy protagonist. Throw a stone at any of the series’ 33 movies and you’re bound to hit a sarcastic hero with a tough(ish) exterior but a heart of gold underneath. It’s a good archetype, but fill a universe (and a superhero team) with just one type of person and it’s bound to get a little stale. One disappointment of the franchise’s latest entry, The Marvels, is that it comes so close to giving us a totally new kind of hero. But in the end, Carol Danvers never quite becomes the well-meaning but slightly dense super-jock that we deserve.
Ke Huy Quan has shared that joining the MCU was at the top of his wish list when he returned to acting.
Well, here's an odd one. The twist? All of these players are located in Norway.
Hydrogen-powered heavy lorries were once seen as the future of emissions-free road transport but they could soon be relegated to niche markets in Europe, overtaken by electric trucks.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe needs a new team. The Avengers don’t seem to be coming back, or at least not in any of the configurations in which they were once known, what with all the death and retirement. There may be movies called “Avengers” on the calendar — Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars — but who could step into the shoes of the Avengers in these post-Endgame days?
