Another of the four playable clans from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been revealed, with Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room showcasing the Banu Haqim.
Alongside the previously revealed Brujah and Tremere clans, the Banu Haqim will be another playable faction for players to choose. They will surely be a popular one from both a gameplay and narrative perspective, as they stalk their prey, outmanoeuvre their enemies and strike from the shadows to assassinate their victims quietly.
The Banu Haqim are know for keeping their bloodlust in check and are ardent followers of a moral code for the secretive vampire society.
“Making [player character] Phyre a Banu Haqim changes how players approach combat, offering a unique perspective to the game’s world,” said Alex Skidmore, Project Creative Director at The Chinese Room. “Players must approach encounters carefully to make the most of this clan’s gifts, timing their strikes with finesse and precision to achieve their goals. These Kindred are patient and careful, making them ideal for players looking for a strategic experience.”
There’s one more playable clan to be revealed for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which will surely come in the next week or two.
It was back in September when Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was re-revealed following years of delay and issues. The re-reveal confirmed that The Chinese Room had taken over development duties. The pitch and story for Bloodlines 2 has now shifted compared to the originally revealed version of the game. Still set in Seattle, there’s a three-way power struggle for power in the Vampire Court, and in an intriguing shift, Phyre is an Elder Vampire, which sounds like a gateway to unleashing plenty of fun vampire powers on hapless lesser beings.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, expected to release in late 2024.
