Star Trek Online opens a new chapter on PC today, with the release of the 31st Season: Both Worlds. Featuring a new episode, new Task Force Operation, and more to pay homage to Star Trek as the game heads towards its 14th anniversary.
In Both Worlds, which also hits consoles on March 12th, the new episode, “Scorpion’s Abyss” continues the multiverse story from last season and the threat from the Borg. This time, your adventures will take you into the Mirror Borg Unicomplex, a dangerous and large facility you have to infiltrate in order to stop the Mirror Borg from using a newly discovered Reality Vortex as a beachhead from which to launch a new invasion on the multiverse.
The episode brings back several characters and original actors to voice them. Nicole de Boer returns as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Ezri Dax, while Garret Wang is Star Trek: Voyager’s(now-Captain) Harry Kim. Kipleigh Brown also makes a return as Captain Kuumaarke, originally from Star Trek: Enterprise. These characters are involved in the story that will eventually take you into face-to-face conflict with the Borg King.
The Borg King represents an ongoing threat, and this is your chance to stop him and save the multiverse.
Battle of Wolf 359 is the new 5-person Task Force Operation, and is based on a classic battle against the Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation. This newest season also adds a new feature, a queue system for Elite Random Task Force Operations. Queue up to participate in random Elite TFOs for extra rewards.
Season 31 also brings a new event, King and Collective, offering the potential to earn yourself a new T6 Alliance Rex Pilot Escort ship.
