Nintendo quietly updated the Princess Peach Showtime box art to change Peach's face. Now, it more closely resembles her movie counterpart. Kung Fu Peach even has an angrier expression, rather than smiling blissfully as she leaps into an attack. Fans were quick to notice this as posts cropped up across Reddit and Twitter - some hate it, some love it, some are just bewildered.

Nintendo has subtly proven that it knows its audience as a new advert for Super Mario Bros. Wonder has exploded in popularity on social media due to how it addresses what Bowser is into. It could also be a very subtle reference to the Bowsette phenomenon from years back, which is something Nintendo has never properly addressed.

With the game only two weeks from release, Super Mario Bros Wonder has started getting some promotion on television and beyond. Over in Japan, a new set of commercials has been released for TV viewers, and one of them highlights a unique feature of the game. As you’ll see in the commercial below, the player can play as Mario right from the intro screen! You’ll get to interact with the world and its characters as you wait to arrive in the Flower Kingdom with the rest of your friends. It’s a small touch, but it’s a welcome one.

October has only just begun, but there are already plenty of big releases to look forward to in November. Nintendo’s Super Mario RPG Remake is one and will launch next month. Along with gorgeous new visuals and fresh mechanics like triple attacks, original composer Yoko Shimomura offers a rearranged soundtrack.

One of the things that sometimes gets lost when it comes to remakes of particularly “old titles” in the gaming space is that things that were done in the past don’t always hold up when you remake them. Obviously, the graphics are a big thing that is often improved due to advanced technologies and better televisions in general. Gameplay mechanics can also be fixed, adjusted, and improved due to new trends and wanting a “better flow.” Then, in the case of the Super Mario RPG Remake and certain other games, they need to improve things on a more “politically correct” scale.

We’re less than a month away from the release of Super Mario Bros Wonder, and many people are wondering just how good the game will be. Just from the “eye test” level, gamers expect this to be a title that will be, at the very least, unique to play, given all the gimmicks thrown at it. But as time has gone on, they’ve noticed that this could be one of the deepest 2D experiences with Mario in some time. That’s not to say that past titles in this vein were bad, but instead, that Nintendo has truly taken things to the next level here.

For a game that relies on speed and momentum the way the upcoming Sonic Superstars is surely going to, a fast and steady frame rate isn’t just a bonus, it’s almost a requirement. Thankfully, it’s been confirmed that even on the Nintendo Switch, Sonic Superstars won’t disappoint on that front.
