As a live service third-person looter shooter, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has gone down a very different direction from the Batman: Arkham games that put developer Rocksteady Studios on the map, and though that significant deviation is something that fans of the studio’s past work have been pretty vocally displeased about, Rocksteady says that in terms of story, Suicide Squad still very much abides by the studio’s philosophy.
Speaking in a recent interview with PLAY magazine (via GamesRadar), product director Darius Sadeghian said that similar to the Arkham games, Suicide Squad will continue to emphasize story and characters above all else, before adding that it’s “easily” Rocksteady’s “biggest game” to date as far as its story is concerned.
It’s still full of the DNA that infuses the Batman: Arkham series – those foundations of story and character are absolutely central to our process,” he said. “Story-wise, this is easily our biggest game.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from its developers. Last month, Rocksteady touted it as its “biggest cinematic experience” ever.
Meanwhile, the studio has also made similar claims about the game where its world is confirmed, with its setting of Metropolis confirmed to be twice the size of Batman: Arkham Knight’s Gotham City map.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is finally out next week after a lengthy delay from last year. Deluxe Edition players will receive early access, and in some new tweets, Rocksteady confirmed it would be available on January 29th, 9 PM PT (or January 30th at your local midnight time) on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. On Steam, it goes live on January 30th, 10 AM PT.
Officially, Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League comes out on February 2nd, the same day that another big title arrives from Atlus. But a few days before, on January 30th, a special “early access” period will start for certain gamers to get into the title beforehand. These dates would excite players if they were hyped for the title. But, currently, the hype for the next game by Rocksteady Studios is “mixed” at best. An easy counter to this “mixed hype” would be to see how the reviews turn out and if critics can sway some of them to the developers’ side. Yet, if reports are to be believed, there’s a problem on that end.
