Rocksteady Studios has detailed the contents of the next Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League update, revealing that the upcoming patch will deal with the fact that some players have completely broken the game by abusing a Burn-related bug, in addition to introducing a number of other changes. Despite confirming the plan to nerf Burn builds, the company did so while praising the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League fandom for breaking the game so soon after its release.
The first new AAA title from the Batman Arkham series developer in nearly a decade was released for PC and current-generation consoles on January 30. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was met with mixed reviews from critics, but more encouraging reactions from the fandom, as underlined by the fact that its Steam player scores are currently in the «Very Positive» category, based on nearly 3,500 ratings.
And while the new Suicide Squad game was off to a bit of a rough start on PC, audience size-wise, enough people have been playing it for one completely broken strategy to already surface online. The approach in question revolves around Burn builds, which currently benefit from the fact that their central status effect is bugged, with its damage scaling across Mastery Levels «far beyond what the game was balanced for at launch,» Rocksteady wrote on the shooter's official Discord channel. The next Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice league update will address this issue, consequently making higher Mastery Levels much more challenging for Burn builds.
Rocksteady used its announcement as an opportunity to «applaud» the players for «breaking the game,» stating that the ridiculous Mastery Levels some have achieved with their broken Burn builds will be immortalized. To that end, the upcoming update will introduce another leaderboard for players in the post-Burn-nerf era in which all Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Afflictions will hopefully work as intended.
The next patch will also include a few other changes that are geared toward rebalancing the shooter's endgame offerings. Specifically, Rocksteady will make enemy health scale less aggressively past Mastery Level 50, with that change promising to make the late-game grind more bearable. At the same time, The Heat Wave's Molten Skin and The Turtle's Shell are getting nerfed because the developer concluded they made the game too easy due to how easy their effects are to trigger; instead of providing immunity, both items will offer 90% damage reduction following the next patch.
The upcoming update is still without a concrete release date, although Rocksteady Community Manager Darroch Brown confirmed that the patch began in-house testing on February 8 and will be deployed «soon.» These
