Hideo Kojima took to The Game Awards stage last night to unveil his new game, OD, being made in partnership with Get Out director Jordan Peele. And while I've got no real sense of what the game is actually about, Kojima himself definitely wants you to know what it's not about.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima announced OD, a new horror game for Xbox, alongside Us director Jordan Peele at The Game Awards. Finally, he's cashing in on the years of goodwill he built up with horror fans after making the unreleased Silent Hill P.T. nearly a decade ago. 

It’s always a good bet that Hideo Kojima may pop up to show something at The Game Awards, and he didn’t disappoint this evening. No, he didn’t show Death Stranding 2, instead he finally teased his long-ago announced Xbox-exclusive project. The first teaser focused on super-detailed facial animations of the game’s cast, including Sophia Lillis (the new It films), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), and legendary German actor Udo Kier. Whatever he’s cooking up will make use of Xbox’s cloud tech, although it also seems to be playing off the fan-favorite P.T. with a reoccurring opening door motif. The game’s tagline seems to be “For all players and screamers.” You can check out the teaser trailer, below.

A new trailer for Masters of the Air has landed, and it promises an epic TV event from the creators of Band of Brothers and The Pacific. In the spine-tingling new teaser, Austin Butler leads the star-studded cast playing members of the 100th Bomb Group, a group of World War 2 pilots who conducted perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany.

New World Interactive has been hit with layoffs amid Embracer Group's restructuring program. 

Konami has dropped some new info (they call it “intel,” but that’s too corny for me) on WayForward’s Contra: Operation Galuga in the form of the trailer. The main draw of this new slab of gameplay footage is a focus on all the characters joining Lance and Bill.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG Chief Executive Officer Oliver Zipse was incredulous when asked this month whether the German premium carmaker would respond to a brutal price war in electric vehicles by cutting production. “Do I understand you right that you try to slow us down? Two years ago, it was the other way around,” he told analysts, triggering wry laughter.  

Next year, Gamescom will be spinning up a new event set in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Appropriately dubbed Gamescom Latam, it'll run from June 26, 2024 to June 30 and provide "a unique opportunity for gaming fans and for the digital entertainment industry from Brazil, the whole Latin America and beyond."
