A Starfield player online has shared their attempts to recolonize Earth in Bethesda’s space RPG. The remains of Earth only play an extremely small role in Starfield, but one player is seeing if they can restore it to its former glory.
The ability to build outposts across many of the planets in Starfield has given players another way to flaunt their creativity in the game. Since the game launched last year, there have been plenty of different outpost builds, and it takes something truly impressive to stand out from the crowd. A while back, one Starfield player even built an outpost in a crater on the Moon, so there are plenty of options available to gamers. It’s great to see players taking the feature and using it in so many creative ways.
Redditor masondamonke shared their attempts to recolonize Earth in Starfield, with the initial stages of this involving setting up a smaller outpost before eventually expanding further. Visiting Earth in Starfield can feel like a bit of an anti-climax initially, with there not already being a colony on the planet to interact with. However, these recolonization attempts could make the planet much more interesting to explore, once everything is properly set up and it is inhabited by more NPCs.
Gamers in the thread took the opportunity to discuss Earth in the game and how, in its current form, it represents somewhat of a missed opportunity. Players can visit plenty of Earth’s landmarks in Starfield, such as the remains of the Empire State Building, but one user in the thread pointed out that it isn’t exactly believable, with no real mountains, canyons, or geological formations still intact. Sadly, the attempts to recolonize Earth won’t be able to solve these complaints, although when outposts are set up, it may feel a little more lively all around.
Starfield absolutely needs an enormous 2024. Despite the critical success of the game, there’s no doubt that fan reception was a little more subdued. Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion will be coming at some point later this year, and it represents a huge opportunity for Bethesda to win back any players it lost with the base game. If Shattered Space struggles in the same way, it could be a real killer for Starfield. Recently, Bethesda revealed that development of The Elder Scrolls 6 is underway, and the developer will want all fans onboard for its next big sequel.
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Starfield is a sci-fi action role-playing game where players interact with multiple factions, engage in combat, customize their main character and ship, as well as explore a universe that features over 100 systems and 1,000 planets.
