It's been an odd couple of weeks if you're an Xbox fan, with rumors flying that certain exclusives will be making their way to other consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Pretty much every Xbox exclusive you can think was rumored to be jumping over at some point, with Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Sea of Thieves being the three games fueling most of the rumors.
Two other big rumors that came out during that time were that both Starfield and the recently announced Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would also be coming to other platforms, two of the platforms biggest titles. Thankfully, Xbox head Phil Spencer has clamed everyone down regarding the rumors, and has clarified that both titles will not be coming to PlayStation as part of the studio's multi-platform plans.
At the beginning of the podcast, Spencer states that some of the rumors were true and that four different current Xbox console exclusives, two of which are community-driven, will release on other platforms in the near future, though he doesn't name them. Spencer is then asked whether he can state if any of these titles are Starfield, to which he rpelis that both Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will remain on Xbox for the time being.

Said titles will not include Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which will remain exclusive to Xbox and PC, until circumstances change. Xbox bigwig Phil Spencer, however, has seen the success of Helldivers 2 – and is struggling to see the advantage of the PlayStation-published shooter not being available on Xbox.

The last 10-days-or-so have been quite the roller coaster for Xbox fans. Team Green was thrown into turmoil earlier this month by rumors that everything from Starfield, to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, to even Gears of War may be going multiplatform. Granted, some of those rumors were later walked back, but still, the spectre of a third-party future for Xbox was raised.
If it weren’t enough that Microsoft detailed its plans for bringing first-party titles to other platforms (which doesn’t include Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle), it also discussed its next-gen hardware. Xbox president Sarah Bond promised the “largest technical leap” in a hardware generation.
Following today’s Official Xbox Podcast, Microsoft made its stance on first-party titles going multiplatform quite clear. While it will launch four titles on other platforms (rumored to be Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment and Grounded), there’s no change to Xbox’s philosophy regarding exclusives. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer clarified that Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle aren’t among those titles.
