A creative Stardew Valley fan has put together their own spa and sauna in the game, giving their character a cozy place to relax within their own property. The creation showcases the clever use of a Stardew Valley storage shed, floor tiles, furniture, and even some items that players typically might throw out.
While Stardew Valley doesn't let players build from the ground up like Minecraft, it nonetheless offers a variety of ways to make each player's farm unique. Some fans are content to simply decorate their farmhouse and leave it at that, but many spend the advancing years of the game dreaming up special uses for the title's storage sheds and excess space on their property.
Such is the case with oOFerris_BuellerOo, who showcased the sauna and spa they built for themselves inside a storage shed. The room has been laid out into sections, with an entryway, relaxation space, the sauna, and the spa. Clever use of flooring makes the room look like there's a pool of water to submerge in, complete with a boat 'floating' on top. The sauna is decorated with spools of fabric standing in for towels. The user got particularly clever by using a Rusty Spoon artifact to represent a sauna ladle next to a pair of barrels.
Fellow players have been quick to praise the user for their creativity, with several taking inspiration from the design. Some pointed out the Mayor's purple shorts strewn about the place, with the player stating that one pair was theirs, and another belonged to the Junimo seen in the sauna. While blue carpet has been utilized as a stand-in for water before in other Stardew Valley shed spa redesigns, some players were surprised to realize that it was flooring and not real water.
Whether fans use mods in Stardew Valley or simply utilize what's already available in the game, the title provides a wellspring of creativity for its players. While the game is somewhat structured, players are let loose into the world can spend their time doing whatever they please. Some players even disregard their farms for many years to instead focus on developing relationships with Pelican Town citizens. There's plenty for players to choose to do, and even those who have fully explored every corner of the game are looking forward to the upcoming 1.6 update. Its release will include new festivals, new items, dialogue, and even an increase to how many players can play at once in multiplayer mode.
Stardew Valley is a hit Indie release that spawned a cult following thanks to its similarities to titles like Harvest Moon and The Sims. Players will take control of their own characters as they are dropped into the eponymous Stardew Valley and given an old dilapidated farm. They'll cultivate new crops and relationships with the NPCs
