The Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 trailerdropped, confirming the return of Asajj Ventress, a beloved character long thought dead. But now, an eagle-eyed viewer may have uncovered another returning character, and this return is downright tragic.
The Bad Batch has the distinction of essentially being the only Star Wars series that serves as a true successor to the acclaimed animated series The Clone Wars, despite plenty of other shows including characters the latter had previously introduced. As such, it's got plenty of material to work with, including the chance to bring back fan favorites like the sometimes-villain, sometimes-something-else, but always Nightsister Asajj Ventress. Fans had previously assumed she was dead in Star Wars canon by this point, so her return is a surprise in more ways than one. But she may not be the only shockingly familiar face.
Twitter user @NExploradora thinks they've spotted none other than Tech in the new The Bad Batch season 3 trailer. That's right. The character who tragically appeared to fall to his death at the end of season 2 may very well be primed to return. The thing is, that return may entail something truly heartbreaking. Characters not really dying isn't exactly a new concept for Star Wars, just like in the Marvel comics and movies. Funnily enough, that might not be the only parallel between the two franchises.
Exploradora's possible discovery happens during a scene showing a «new» character leading a platoon of Imperial stormtroopers. The idea here is that, after Tech supposedly became the first major character death in The Bad Batch, Imperial forces may have found him alive and brainwashed him to become a loyal soldier. Any Marvel fans will recognize this as an almost identical plot point to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which saw the Captain's friend Bucky turned into a ruthless killer by the Hydra organization using similar methods.
This could make things even more emotional for both the members of Clone Force 99 (the titular «Bad Batch») and the audience. When Tech «died» at the end of season 2, it wrecked countless viewers who had previously been enjoying a fun romp with this eclectic band of misfits on the run from the Empire. But things got cranked up to 11 pretty quickly during the latter section of the season, adding some significant drama. Now, with the possibility that Tech is back and as an enemy, fans may have to contend with the possibility of losing him yet again.
Aside from that, there's still a ton of excitement to look forward to in this final season of The Bad Batch. There's still the question of what will happen with Crosshair, the fellow «defective» clone who betrayed his brothers in Clone Force 99 to stay with the Empire. Given

For Star Wars fans, conventions are excellent opportunities to get up close and personal with their heroes. But despite how ill-advised that idea is by philosophers of the classic and party variety, sometimes it can result in magic, like the vindication of countless shippers.
Star Wars fans have gotten used to every new story focusing on some hero making bold strides for the good of the galaxy, from Luke to Rey, and even more subtle takes like the antifascist radicalization story of Andor. But some have realized that perhapsThe Mandalorian may be less of a heroic tale than it seems.
One Star Wars fan has introduced a frankly depressing new idea for what might have been if things were a little different. In this case, it involves a beloved hero from Star Wars Rebels in his darkest alternate timeline, and even other fans have powerful feelings about the idea.
The following contains spoilers for the season 2 finale of The Bad BatchStar Wars: The Bad Batch featured one of the most heartwrenching deaths in the franchise's recent history. But some fans aren't ready to say goodbye, setting off a rather heated debate on whether certain characters should stay dead.
