It's Star Wars Day and if you're planning on celebrating your fandom by playing some video games set in a galaxy far, far away, you've got a lot of options. If you'd prefer to do that without spending any money, you still have options, and they're better options than you might think. Whether you game on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or both, each platform has offered up the chance to take two of the very best Star Wars games for a spin this weekend to celebrate May 4.

The universe has begun a pretty significant expansion with the release of the hit TV adaptation released on Prime Video. Fans finally have their first look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’sCal Kestis as a LEGO Star Wars minifigure. The first LEGO Star Wars building sets were released in 1999 to promote Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, and for the past 25 years the Galaxy Far, Far Away has been one of LEGO’s most popular settings. About 928 LEGO Star Wars sets have been released as of April 2024, and there have been countless tie-in animated movies and Traveller’s Tales-developed LEGO Star Wars video games to go with them.

Sometimes there’s a game that’s just a delight to write about, however you slice it. That’s how I feel about getting to tell you about Oyster Wars, a platforming game that melds the fluid movement of Celeste with the puzzle dungeons and hookshot traversal of Zelda.
