Following the reveal date for Ubisoft Forward 2024, the Toronto studio updates its social media profile with Sam Fisher's iconic green trigoggle glow, hinting at new reveals for the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake. Splinter Cell continues to be a fan favorite title within Ubisoft catalog, even though the last release in the franchise came back in 2013. For years, fans have continued to wait for any news of a new entry in the stealth-action franchise, especially following Ubisoft's former E3 press conferences.
However, the silence around the dormant franchise finally changed in 2021, when Ubisoft announced it was remaking the original Splinter Cell. While not a new game in the traditional sense, Ubisoft Toronto appears to be updating and rewriting parts of the original story based on past job listings for a Scriptwriter. Unfortunately, since that reveal announcement, details have been incredibly scarce outside of the fact that the game will be using Massive Entertainment's Snowdrop engine. Thankfully, it appears the silence is nearing an end, as Ubisoft Forward 2024 approaches.
Following the official demise of E3 as well as a move to digital showcases, Ubisoft announced the return of its showcase event in 2024. Set to kick off on June 10 from Los Angeles, Ubisoft Forward is set to update fans about current Ubisoft titles, as well as showcase what the company has planned for the future. Considering the timing of the social media change, many have assumed it's directly related and indicates that the Splinter Cell Remake is finally ready to be shown off, with some even hoping for some sort of release date as well.
