Spider-Man 2 has now swung its way into game-of-the-year conversations after its stellar release that shattered sales records for PlayStation, and it’s stood the test of time with its amazing gameplay and story.
However, there was a minor blip that Insomniac Games overlooked before releasing the game, and they’ve made an apology noting this.
For those who don’t already know, throughout some sections of Harlem, and in Miles Morales’s home, they displayed the Cuban flag, rather than the Puerto Rican one, which Miles and his family share heritage from.
A common oversight on behalf of the development team, and one that was quickly noticed by some patrons on X, who noted it to Insomaic over release weekend.
Some fans simply thought it was an honest mistake, while others felt it was a clear shot at how the Puerto Rican community has been reflected and represented in video games as of late. One user, in particular, JAAY_ROCK_ stated the following.
“Puerto Ricans are a prideful people that love their flag. Many of us love the representation in Miles Morales even made some Puerto Rican gamers emotional.“
“So to see @insomniacgames lack of attention to detail concerning their Black/Puerto Rican character is disappointing.”
Now, this issue has been resolved as the October 26th, update for Spider-Man 2 has addressed the flags throughout the game, and now they properly reflect the Puerto Rican one.
Insomniac took to X to apologize for this mistake, noting that they “understand that accurate representation matters, and greatly regret this error. We sincerely apologize and will do better in the future.”
Today's patch corrects an error where the Cuban flag was incorrectly displayed instead of the Puerto Rican flag. We understand that accurate representation matters, and greatly regret this error. We sincerely apologize and will do better in the future.
It’s impressive how fast fans were able to spot this throughout the game, alongside the fact that Insomniac has kept an open channel in terms of communication with their audience, and addressed the issue quickly.

A couple of significant things happened in the world of online gaming over the first weekend of November. At its BlizzCon convention in California, Blizzard devoted quite a lot of time to World of Warcraft Classic — the nostalgic, retro version of its 19-year-old massively multiplayer game — and revealed surprisingly ambitious plans for Classic’s future. At the same time, Fortnite’s servers were melting under the load of its biggest day ever, which was all down to the launch of Fortnite OG, a special season bringing back the game’s original map and 2018 gameplay.
Rumors have raged around for nearly a decade, but the wait is almost over. news is coming soon, with the first trailer as little as a month away at the time of writing. But anticipatory players have obsessed over every possible aspect of this game since almost immediately after came out in 2013, despite knowing next to nothing about it. This first trailer has many eyes on it, and a lot of expectations to deal with already.
PS1-style stealth slasher Christmas Massacre won't appear on Xbox or Nintendo Switch despite already being available on Steam and coming to PlayStation 5, its developer has said.
Fortnite is no stranger to error codes due to the fact that it’s an online-only title. There are errors for almost everything, including joining a party, which is what prevents players from having fun together when Fortnite Error Code 93 rears its head.
Spider-Man 2 is arguably one of the best games of 2023. While enjoying a great release, one of the things that players noticed is that, while there were glitches present, compared to other major AAA titles, Spider-Man 2 is a very stable and optimized game. With that being said, here are all 1.001.004 patch notes for Spider-Man 2.
Insomniac Games has just rolled out Spider-Man 2 update 1.001.004 for PlayStation 5, which addresses various issues and improves stability.
Here's to hoping they eventually cross paths.
There is a huge debate going on right now in the comics world about what kind of credit people should get when certain adaptations are made of comic properties, not just the “naming credit” in things like movies and TV shows, but the payments that they should get for inspiring some key events that take places in these media. For the longest time, movie and TV studios wouldn’t even do special thanks credits to the famous writers who helped bring the comic characters from Marvel and DC to life, and now, video games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 aren’t paying that kind of respect either.
What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made recently? Don’t be afraid to share. We’ve all made mistakes that have been of a certain vein or style in the last week or so. But we hope that no matter your mistake, it was a “minor one” and not one that really upset people. For example, Insomniac Games have been praised for their dedication to the lore of the Spider-Men in their titles and have been equally praised for how they’ve been portrayed. So you can understand why the fans were upset when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 made an error of rather large proportions.
