Miles Morales has a truly impressive array of abilities on display in, but DLC for the game could make one particular addition to elevate him to the next level entirely. The games have already delivered big-time on an arc for Miles, starting him out as a well-meaning youth that Peter enlists to help at a homeless shelter and bringing him into the full scope of his powers. It might seem like there isn't much farther for him to go, but the perfect mechanic to transform his abilities connects perfectly to
Finding meaningful ways for characters to progress in DLC can often be difficult, as building on systems beyond the main game without resetting or reinventing them in some way isn't always intuitive. Although the three-part DLC for the first met a positive reception overall, reviews tended to be less glowing than for any of the main games, mostly thanks to a "" sense to the content. provides an opportunity to deliver an expansion that exceeds these standards, addressing this core criticism while tiding over fans until the inevitable
Peter's involvement with the Venom symbiote is a huge focus of, and a DLC for the game is the perfect chance to give Miles the opportunity to enhance his powers with a symbiote. The game teases Carnage rather than exploring a story with him fully, which makes throwing this second symbiote into the mix in DLC seem like the best way to approach things. Bringing back a symbiote focus for the third mainline game would feel too similar to, and dealing with that storyline could take the focus away from the likely next main villain: Green Goblin.

Giving Miles a symbiote suit would allow for new possibilities without having to entirely reinvent the wheel, as Peter's usage of Venom's powers in means that the hardest parts of developing mechanics and gameplay have already been taken care of. Instead, the focus could be on how Miles' unique abilities might interact with the super-changed strength, as well as allow for some tweaks to how a different symbiote than Venom would operate. The familiarity that Miles already has with the strengths and weaknesses of Venom could also help him adapt quickly to a symbiote, making it easy to keep things moving in a shorter DLC runtime.
One big takeaway from the story is that Miles is already exceeding Peter's abilities as Spider-Man, as exhibited by his fight against Peter in the game. Miles is able to ultimately come out on top even when Peter has the additional abilities granted to him by the Venom symbiote, implying that Miles could probably trounce him on actually equal footing. Giving Miles a symbiote suit would reveal just how far he can go as Spider-Man and set him up

Insomniac had its work cut out for it with Spider-Man 2 . To say expectations were high going into this sequel is an understatement, buffered by both the first game's major success and the bridge between console generations that was Miles Morales. This new Spidey adventure had to take the best elements from those games, mix them with new characters, features, and stories, and produce the kind of game fans will talk about for years. Somehow, they did just that; Spider-Man 2 is, to get the easy pun out of the way early, amazing.

While is one of the biggest releases of the year, it also came with a number of bugs, which a recent update has helped to alleviate — unfortunately, the patch has also removed a hidden exploit that allowed players to free-roam the city as Venom. The first game in the series to feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable protagonists, also had a major focus on adapting the popular symbiote storyline from the classic comics, including the introduction of iconic Spider-Man villain Venom alongside fellow Marvel antagonists Sandman and Kraven.
Miles plays an enormous role in ; however, he is, throughout large sections of the game, overshadowed by Peter Parker and can come off feeling like a secondary character rather than a joint protagonist of equal importance. Though Peter is the original Spider-Man and, therefore, has decades of fan recognition, Miles Morales has, in recent years, become just as popular and widely beloved as his friend and mentor, both in the comics, as well as the film and video game adaptions. Although Miles doesn't solely possess the spotlight in the latest installment of Insomniacs' games, he does go through a lot.
But where did Alan Wake 2 land on the charts?
In , the Symbiote, known as Venom when fully manifested, causes an extraordinary amount of physical, mental, and emotional damage to Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Harry Osborne, and Mary Jane Watson; however, its inclusion, and the effect it has on the game's main characters, often results in them doing or saying incredibly relatable things — many of which make their depictions all the more emotive and enjoyable. While the Symbiote corrupts its host, Marvel's Spider-Man 2's main characters seemingly try to make the most of a bad situation — perhaps for their own survival, but also for the wellbeing of those they care about.
The developers of hit PlayStation 5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have said Miles Morales is the "main" Spider-Man from now on, which has caused some fans to speculate about what Insomniac may do with the inevitable Spider-Man 3.
NOTE: There are major spoilers ahead for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Whether or not Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive post-launch DLC similar to the first game remains to be seen, but creative director Bryan Intihar sure seems to be hinting at not just upcoming content, but possibly upcoming content related to fellow Marvel superhero Daredevil.
features two playable protagonists, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Throughout the duration of, both Peter and Miles will unlock a plethora of abilities that will add to their already impressive arsenal of crime-fighting skills and gadgets.
