Sony's Probably Not Done Partnering with Korean Devs | Push Square

The folks over at Bloober Team are throwing together a new title, but this time, the franchise is through one of the IPs by Skybound Entertainment. It’s been unveiled that the development studio has partnered up with Skybound Entertainment for this next big game release. However, that’s about all we know right now about the game. With Bloober Team known for delivering horror gameplay experiences, it would be hard to see the studio partnered up with an IP not centered around a horror storyline. 

As is a yearly tradition on the Push Square forums, the Official 2023 Screenshot of the Year Competition is now taking entries! After many years of service (thank you), veteran user @RogerRoger has passed the bat over to @Ralizah, who along with @HallowMoonshadow and @AgentCooper, will judge the finalists in three categories.

It's almost Christmas time, and you know what that means — publishers and developers from around the globe have descended on the PS Blog to spread some seasons greetings. Yes, the annual tradition returns, with lots of well-known teams sharing a festive image for fans to enjoy.

Originally due in November, trendy K-hip hop combat game Tiger Blade will now purr to PSVR2 from 20th December, just in time for the holidays. The rhythm slasher, which sees you tasked with stealing a previously believed extinct cat from a rival clan, is set in an alternate version of Korea – and you can read more about the developer’s influences in our interview.

Sony propelled overall console sales up almost 60 per cent year-over-year, as the PS5 absolutely exploded in Europe during November. According to a GSD sales report – which tracks several major countries, excluding the likes of the UK and Germany – the new-gen console’s sales were boosted by an eye-opening 376 per cent year-over-year. It’s worth remembering that in 2022 the system was still supply constrained, which is a factor in these results.

Insomniac Games has confirmed it has a significant PS5 update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the works, but players will need to wait until early 2024 to download and access its all-new features. The studio shared the news on Twitter having previously stated it wants to get New Game+ out before the end of this year. While a few more months of development are required to get it ready, it'll now be accompanied by a number of new features.

Film studio A24 has revealed it's partnering with Kojima Productions to bring the live-action movie adaptation of Death Stranding to the big screen. To celebrate, a $40 t-shirt featuring the A24 logo in the style of Death Stranding is available to buy. While undeniably cool, you're essentially paying to promote a business deal. As promised, GTA Online players have unfinished business with Yusuf Amir, and the Chop Shop update is out today on PlayStation platforms. It introduces the aforementioned illicit business, a variety of new vehicles, and additional Drift Races, an excellent way to kill some time while we wait for the release of GTA 6 (coming in 2025).

Call of Duty developers that levelled criticism at Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge for joking about the length of Modern Warfare 3's campaign at The Game Awards have walked their initial comments back, citing frustration at the industry's current state.

Recently we went hands-on with Ubisoft's upcoming Metroidvania, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It's slashing its way onto PS5 and PS4 in January, bringing the series back to PlayStation for the first time since 2010. But after all this time, how is this latest adventure shaping up? And will it be worth that 14-year wait? Well, from our two hours with the game, we'd say fans of the series have a fun and vibrant adventure on their hands, and we personally are looking forward to jumping back into it.

Following the backlash No Man's Sky creator Sean Murray received when the highly ambitious spacefaring adventure didn't meet expectations at launch, you might think he'd be more cautious when drumming up hype for Hello Games' next project, but that's far from the case.
