Sony has revealed January 2024’s PlayStation Plus Essential games

Square Enix's foam-drenched online shooter is going live next month and it will be a PlayStation Plus monthly game. For those subscribers looking to add it to their library, or for non-subscribers looking to purchase the game outright, Foamstars launches exclusively on PlayStation 4 and 5 on February 6.

Square Enix has announced that its 4v4 online party shooter Foamstars will release on February 6th for PS4 and PS5. A new trailer is available, showcasing the gameplay and confirming three modes – Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival and a new addition, Rubber Duck Party. Check it out below.

Four-versus-four foam party shooter FOAMSTARS will launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on February 6 for $29.99, publisher Square Enix and developer Toylogic announced. It will launch as part of the Monthly Games lineup for PlayStation Plus members, meaning it will be available to download and keep at no extra cost between February 6 and March 4.

Early last year, Square Enix announced Foamstars, a new PlayStation-exclusive lighthearted multiplayer shooter with more than a little Splatoon DNA in it. In the time since then, Square Enix has held an open beta, but hasn’t announced when the full game will release. Well, we can now report Foamstars will be launching in early February, and it will be available as a PS Plus Essential game from Day 1.

Sony shared its upcoming PlayStation Plus free games for January on Wednesday. Headlining this month’s batch are Capcom’s 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake and the Borderlands spinoff Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can claim the 14 new games on January 16.

Members in the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus will get access to a number of games in January 2024, and gamers now have a better idea about how much space they will require. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers get some notable benefits over the Essential tier, as users in this category can play hundreds of games at no extra cost.

Resident Evil 2 leads the pack of new titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe/ Premium game catalogue, this month. Starting January 16, all higher-tier PS Plus members can head into their first day of work at the Raccoon City Police Department as the pretty boy rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, only to be pit against hordes of flesh-eating zombies. As a remake of the original 1998 game, it features an additional pathway where you experience the story through the eyes of college student Claire Redfield, looking to reunite with her missing brother, before getting plunged into a conspiracy involving bizarre experiments and sinister corporations. Resident Evil 2 will be available to play on both PS4 and PS5.

Sony has announced the first games coming to the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Starting January 16th, they can play Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Next-Level Edition, Resident Evil 2, Session: Skate Sim and Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong on PS5 and PS5.

The PlayStation Plus monthly games for January 2024 has been confirmed by Sony. These monthly games are the games that are available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, regardless of membership tier.
